Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini again visited the border area in Timor Tengah Utara Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Wednesday (02/03). During this second visit, the Minister of Social Affairs sharpened various community empowerment plans in the area that had been announced during the first visit in January 2021.

This time the Minister of Social Affairs discussed with local stakeholders regarding the technical steps to normalize the Noemeto River. On the occasion, the Minister of Social Affairs also explained the Ministry of Social' Affairs' plan to build 20 housing units for local communities that were destroyed by last year's earthquake.

Furthermore, the discussion carried out was the construction of a community center intended for local children in order to improve the quality of learning and residents to hone their economic independence.

"We provide the best community center facilities so that children in NTT can access various information for the development of education and knowledge. Mothers can also take advantage of existing facilities to hone economic independence," said the Social Affairs Minister.

She hopes that this assistance will accelerate economic independence and the community will be free from poverty.
