CENTRAL BENGKULU (6 April 2023) – In this holy month, Ministry of Social Affairs through the “Dharma Guna” Center in Bengkulu distributed Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) to the Social Welfare Service Recipients or Pemerlu Pelayanan Kesejahteraan Sosial (PPKS) in Bengkulu Province. The assistance reaches out to 1000 poor and vulnerable people which is worth Rp 1 billion.

The assistance that is given now is the assessment result integrated in 2022, which is through the process of assessment and verification, and data validation based on the applicable law and regulations.

“Based on this assessment result, we delivered the assistance in the form of basic food, nutrition, children's toys, and accessibility assistance wheelchair,” said the Head of “Dharma Guna” Center in Bengkulu Syam Wuryani.

For this reason, Sentra "Dharma Guna" prepared a budget of Rp1,166,127,400 in the form of food packages, nutrition, and self-care equipment for 1,000 PPKS in 10 work areas of Sentra "Dharma Guna". Apart from that, disability aids are also prepared in the form of ordinary and adaptive wheelchairs for people with disabilities who need them.

Until now, "Dharma Guna" Center has distributed ATENSI assistance in South Bengkulu Regency, Seluma, Bengkulu City, and Central Bengkulu Regency. The next process will be distributed in Kepahiang, Rejang Lebong, Lebong, North Bengkulu, Muko-Muko, and Kaur Regencies.

In the distribution in Central Bengkulu, member of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives Mohammad Saleh was also present. "This activity is a form of concern and presence of the Country to the Social Welfare Service Recipients," he said.

He also told the local government to use the "usul sanggah" feature in the Cekbansos application. The proposal feature allows uploading data for those who are not yet received assistance. The refutation feature is to correct ineligible aid recipients.

Saleh stated that this breakthrough is a form of justice enforcement.

"There is a proposal and refutation feature. Please give it to me (data on beneficiaries). If there are who are not eligible, they must be crossed out," he said.

He also advised that all elements of government and society can work together to reduce poverty, especially in Bengkulu province. "I am sure and believe that with the collaboration of the government, parliament, and society as a whole, we can gradually reduce poverty in Bengkulu province," he said.

For information, the distribution of ATENSI assistance is carried out as a form of direct implementation of the Social Rehabilitation Program to achieve the social functioning of individuals, families, and communities on PPKS in meeting basic needs and rights, carrying out social tasks and roles, and overcoming problems in life.
