239 Persons with Disabilities in Kepulauan Seribu Receive Assistance from MoSA
KEPULAUAN SERIBU (8 August 2023) - The government, especially the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA), continues to fulfill the rights of persons with disabilities. Various programs are designed to encourage persons with disabilities to be socially and economically independent.
Under the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, these efforts were realized by providing Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) for Persons with Disabilities. In Kepulauan Seribu, Jakarta Province, 239 persons with disabilities received ATENSI assistance. The assistance given was based on an assessment of their individual needs.
"The assistance provided is in the form of practical tools for persons with disabilities, entrepreneurship assistance, nutrition, and fulfillment of a decent life, with a total value of IDR 473,030,500," said an employee of Handayani Center, Johan Sigit, on Sunday (6/8).
The assistance was distributed to eight administrative regencies in Kepulauan Seribu, namely Pramuka Island, Untung Jawa Island, Tidung Island, Kelapa Island, Panggang Island, Harapan Island, Pari Island and Lancang Island.
Johan said that the distribution was quite large in terms of the number of targeted beneficiaries, the value of the assistance and the area of distribution. "I hope that this kind of collaboration will continue to be improved so that more and more people can get assistance," he said.
The assistance was symbolically handed over by MoSA through the Handayani Center in Jakarta together with Regional Representative Council (DPD RI) members to the beneficiaries at the District Head Office of the Kepulauan Seribu Administrative District. Soon after, the assistance was distributed to each island.
Member of DPD RI, Dailami Firdaus said this assistance was a form of the Social Affairs Minister's attention to persons with disabilities. "Thanks to the Ministry of Social Affairs. Hopefully, this assistance can be useful for persons with disabilities in Kepulauan Seribu. I also thank the Minister of Social Affairs for her concern for persons with disabilities in Kepulauan Seribu," he said.
Dailami also emphasized that his party was ready to strengthen collaboration in handling persons with disabilities in Kepulauan Seribu.
The Chairperson of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (KND), Dante Rigmalia, who was also present to witness the distribution, conveyed the same thing. He was grateful that the distribution went smoothly and expressed his gratitude for the attention from the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Handayani Center.
Adariantini, Riansyah's mother, persons with multiple disabilities expressed her gratitude when receiving the assistance. "I have nothing more to say. I can only thank the Ministry of Social Affairs for paying attention to my son," she said. Riansyah received assistance in the form of the fulfillment of a decent life and educational games.
The Ministry of Social Affairs hopes that this program will provide greater support and opportunities for persons with disabilities to be independent.
