JAKARTA (26 June 2021) – The Ministry of Social Affairs continues to improve social rehabilitation services through 41 centers spread throughout Indonesia.

"According to the direction of the Social Minister that every social rehabilitation center provides multi-functional services," said Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Harry Hikmat in Jakarta, Friday (25/6/021).

In addition to improving services, every center must have the capacity to respond  to children cases.

"The 41 centers function as a place for complaints, including if a child's family member or parents are exposed to Covid-19," said Harry.

For parents who are undergoing treatment for Covid-19, their children must be able to be cared for for a while at the center.

Based on the collaboration with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), there is a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for children affected by Covid-19.

"All centers must be ready to serve families who need help and be a place for children needing care," said Harry.

Meanwhile, Asymptomatic Covid-19 (OTG) patients can still be served in centers by preparing special place to undergo isolation.

The decision to self-isolate comes from the results of the swab test by the health workers in the 41 centers.

"Centers in Jakarta has capacity of 38 rooms for isolation, while in Bekasi Centers, namely the Budi Dharma and Pangudi Luhur each has capacity of 10 rooms. One person, one room," said Harry

Chairman of the Indonesian Child Protection Agency (LPAI) Seto Mulyadi stated that every child has the right to be healthy and happy, so they need a curriculum that does not burden them.

"Efforts to assist children are not only physical, but must also be psychological," said the child protection activist.

In this kind of situation, it is necessary to create entertainment programs so that children undergoing treatment at the hospital due to Covid-19 can continue to play.

"Make Indonesian children happy, don't be burdened with curriculum targets, especially don't get sick and stressed," he concluded.
