BANJAR REGENCY (22 September 2023) - Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini worked with the Banjar Police to solve a case of child rape in the Kertak Hanyar District of Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan, on Thursday afternoon (21/9/2023).

"We have already discussed with the Deputy Chief of Police regarding the steps we will take," said Minister Risma.

The Minister directed that the four child victims (AQ, MG, MI, and AV) be intensively handled by the Banjar Regency's Social Office for Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control, and Family Planning in collaboration with the Budi Luhur Center in Banjarbaru and the Social Welfare Education and Training Center (BBPPKS) in Banjarmasin under the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA).

Legal processes at the Banjar Regency Police and health examinations, mental health assessments, and psychiatric evaluations at the Suaka Insan Hospital are among the services provided to victims.

In addition, MoSA is supporting victims and their families with Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI). Bicycles, school supplies, personal hygiene items, and nutrition are among the items provided. ATENSI entrepreneurship assistance is also being provided to the parents, such as a small store, oyster mushroom cultivation, not to mention snacks and soft drinks to sell.

Deputy Chief of Banjar Police Commissioner Faisal Nasution stated that the case of sodomy is still under investigation by the Banjar Police.

"We will convey the Minister's guidance and directions to the relevant agencies for implementation. A team of child therapists and psychologists is currently accompanying the victims," added the Deputy.
