At the Heroes' Day Reflection Event, Minister Risma Ignited the Spirit of the Young Generation to Achieve Success
JAKARTA (10 November 2023)
- The cheerful smile of Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, was
painted while playing with a snaking train with students who were present at Kalibata
Main National Heroes' Cemetery (TMPNU) Convention Hall, Jakarta, during the
Reflection on the Struggle of November 10 and Future Struggle event. The children enthusiastically formed a
snaking line to play with Minister of Social Affairs.
In this activity with the theme "Heroic Spirit for the Nation's Future in Fighting Poverty and Ignorance", Social Affairs Minister Risma appealed to the students present to continue to struggle and study diligently until they can be successful in the future. Participants in this activity came from all over Indonesia, namely two high school students from 38 provinces in Indonesia, so there were 76 students, each of whom wore traditional regional clothing. Apart from that, there were also 100 junior high school students from DKI Jakarta, so the total number of participants in the activity was 176 junior and senior high school students.
"You have to fight, no matter how hard and difficult. Stay persistent, keep moving forward until one day success is in your hands," said Minister Risma to the students present.
Furthermore, Minister of Social Affairs Risma added that there are times, eras, and conditions that shape the figure of a hero. Today's children can become heroes, although in a different way from the struggles of the past. "So, there is a time for a hero, there is an era and there are conditions that shape him to become a hero. Children can become heroes when they can inspire many people, don't think for themselves, and help others," said the Minister.
The Minister of Social Affairs emphasized that Indonesia is a fertile country and has many resources. Therefore, young people are needed who will manage these resources, one way is by studying until they achieve success.
Minister of Social Affairs also said that to achieve success you don't have to master academics. Pursuing talents and skills can also make us progress. Minister of Social Affairs also gave the example of Nara, who is now successful with her cooling helmet. "He's not very clever, but he's nosy, he likes tinkering. But he can buy his father's car, you know. You're not a champion, are you?" joked Minister Risma, who admitted that the man whose full name was Linus Nara Pradhama was shy.
Nara, who has now been successful with his cooling helmet, also gave a message to the students present. "Don't give up easily. I created the helmet for more than a year and at first, it started getting hot on the road. After producing it, now it is a success," he said. On that occasion, Nara also handed over a cooling helmet to Minister Risma.
