DENPASAR (21 October 2021) - Bali community leader Anak Agung Gde Agung appreciated the quick steps taken by Social Minister Tri Rismaharini to help communities affected by the earthquake in Bali. Gde assessed that the Social Minister was a leader with a high sense of crisis.

“As a representative of the Balinese people, I really appreciate Social Minister's visit. She came directly to the disaster site, met the residents and distributed aid,” said Gde Agung in Bali (21/10). Gde Agung's statement was delivered after a visit with the Social Minister to the earthquake site in Bangli (18/10).

According to Gde, the Social Minister's leadership style should be a reference for policy makers both at the regional and central levels. "The Social Minister does not hesitate to cross the lake by boat. She meets the residents in person and listens patiently to their aspirations," said the member of Committee III of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD RI).

From discussions at disaster locations such as in Trunyan Village, the Social Minister immediately executed various decisions that provided solutions and benefits. Such as instructing the establishment of social granaries, tents for relocating residents and also offering boat aid," said the former Badung Regent.

According to Gde Agung, the habit of the Social Minister who often goes directly to the field brings its own advantages. "This way, the problem can be seen directly without a long procedure," he said.

Gde Agung ensured that Committee III of the DPD RI will continue to collaborate with the Ministry of Social Affairs. "Cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs will continue to be well established. Even in the future, both parties must increase synergy because social problems move dynamically in line with the impact of the pandemic. These can cause various problems, including poverty," he said.

DPD RI will continue to support and supervise various Ministry of Social Affairs' programs. "The Ministry of Social Affairs program under Risma's leadership is already on the track. DPD ensures its continuous support to Mrs. Risma," he said.

To the public view that the Social Minister is often angry is not serious problem according tu Gde. "I have been friends with her for a long time since he was the mayor of Surabaya. It is natural for her to be angry because there are problems related to the livelihood of many people that are not going well. Such as social assistance that is not distributed, late or not right on target," he said.
