WEST BANDUNG (April 29th, 2024) – Leni (40) is grateful that because of Nusantara Economic Hero (PENA) program from the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA), her business is now growing rapidly. This resident of Cikadu Village, Sindangkerta District, West Bandung Regency originally sold seblak, a typical West Java food in the form of crackers, meatballs, macaroni and chicken pieces cooked together.
From the start, Leni's business ran normally with a turnover of around IDR 200-300 thousand per day. The changes began to look real when in 2023, Leni received assistance from PENA program. Apart from receiving business assistance, from PENA program, Leni received a number of new business equipment, such as blender, plate rack, repaired refrigerator and various other business equipment. During the assistance, Leni also received suggestions for adding seblak toppings to make it more varied so that consumers had more choices.
Leni complied with the suggestion. The seblak topping, which originally only consisted of two variants, has now increased to seven variants so that it is increasingly attracting buyers' interest. Leni's famous delicious seblak taste with an affordable selling price, which is around IDR 5,000 – IDR 10,000 per portion, depending on the topping variant, has increased Leni's business turnover to an average of IDR 600,000 per day. The number is quite big for a small stall seller in a village located around 40 kilometers from the center of Bandung City.
After her seblak business developed, Leni is now starting to spread her skill by selling basic necessities. Unexpectedly, this business is quite popular and is popular with residents. It didn't stop there, together with her husband, Leni also started raising sheep. It didn't take long for the sheep business, which originally consisted of one head, to now grow to four. “This success comes form PENA's help. Thank you, MoSA. PENA program has proven to be very beneficial for the community," said Leni gratefully.
