BLT Cooking Oil from the Ministry of Social Affairs Reach 3 Million KPM in East Java
Accompanying President Joko Widodo, Minister of Social Affairs witnessed the distribution of social assistance in Sumenep, Surabaya and Gresik
SURABAYA (20 April 2022) — President Joko Widodo made a working visit to three regions in East Java Province, namely Sumenep, Surabaya and Gresik. Accompanied by Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, the President symbolically handed over social assistance to beneficiaries.
The President firstly visited Pasar Anom and Pasar Bangkal, both in Sumenep Regency. During the day, the President left for Pasar Tambak Rejo in Surabaya City, before continuing to Pasar Baru, Gresik Regency.
The President, accompanied by the Minister of Social Affairs, handed over the Family Hope Program (PKH) assistance, BLT Cooking Oil for street vendors, and Working Capital Assistance in the three regions. In each location, 100 beneficiaries (KPM) were present.
In his visit, the President directly handed over BLT Cooking Oil worth IDR 300.000 to the representatives of KPM. At the Pasar Bangkal, the President's arrival was greeted with boisterous cheers from the beneficiaries.
He also did not forget to have a brief dialogue with KPM, greeting them and ensuring that the assistance was used for urgent needs.
"What do you use the assistance for?" The president asked the women who were present. Simultaneously they stated, "To increase capital funding". While others said to buy basic necessities.
The President then mentioned Working Capital Assistance (BMK) as well. "Have you received working capital assistance?"
"We have already," the mothers answered simultaneously. As the name implies, BMK is an assistance to increase or strengthen the businesses of underprivileged people.
The BMK is given in the amount of IDR 1.2 million for each beneficiary. "Is it sufficient or not?" said the President.
"It isn’t, sir," shouted the beneficiaries, greeted with long laughter.
The President stated that the distribution of social assistance, especially BLT Cooking Oil, was running well and smoothly. "It is hoped that BLT Cooking Oil will help reduce spending amidst the rising cost of basic necessities," said the President.
On the same occasion, the Minister of Social Affairs stated that the progress of distributing social assistance, especially BLT Cooking Oil, was still ongoing. "Progress in the distribution of BLT Cooking Oil is quite encouraging. God willing, according to the President's direction, before Eid al-Fitr can be completed," said the Minister.
Regional Executive Vice President for Java-Bali-Nusa Tenggara Agus Aribowo stated that the BLT Cooking Oil distribution was going well. The recipients of BLT Cooking Oil in East Java are 3,098,115 KPM. The assistance has been distributed to 2,346,892 KPM (75.75%) so far," said Agus.
BLT Cooking Oil reached IDR 20.65 million KPM, namely 18.8 million KPM BPNT and 1.85 million KPM PKH. Assistance is given with an index of IDR 100.000/month for 3 months (April, May, and June) which is given all at once in April.
The Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) assistance for East Java Province as a whole reached 3,098,115 KPM with a total of IDR 619,623,000,000, BLT for Cooking Oil as much as 3,098,115 KPM with a total of IDR 929,434,500,000, PKH Phase II covered 1,520,660 KPM with a total of IDR 1.046,936,650,000, and ATENSI assistance as much as 1,501 KPM (elderly, disabled, and orphans) amounting to IDR 1,433,270,000.
For Sumenep Regency, BPNT assistance is distributed to 127,159 KPM for IDR 25,431,800,000, BLT Cooking Oil is 127,159 KPM for IDR 38,147,700,000, PKH phase II is 51,597 KPM for IDR 37,043,425,000, ATENSI assistance is 16 KPM for IDR 80,900,000.
For Gresik Regency, BLT Cooking Oil reached 76,834 KPM with a total assistance of IDR 23,050,200,000, BPNT 76,834 KPM with a total assistance of IDR 46,100,400,000, PKH for Gresik Regency 41,790 KPM with a total of IDR 30,855,700,000.
For the city of Surabaya, ATENSI assistance was distributed to 732 KPM with a total of IDR 540.520.000.
