YOGYAKARTA (February 4, 2024) – The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Antasena Centre in Magelang distributed Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) for Slamet (44), a resident of Kasihan District, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta who is unable to walk.

Slamet has diabetes and nerve disease that causes him unable to walk. Slamet can only lie on his bed. For daily activities, he has to be assisted by his mother, Tukirah (74) who is very old.

For daily needs, Tukirah and Slamet only rely on her children because she is no longer able to work

“My leg often gets sick and I get tired easily. But I still have to take care of Slamet,” said Tukirah.

Ministry of Social Affairs tries to help Slamet by providing a wheelchair that can be used by Slamet to do his activity.

In addition, the Ministry of Social Affairs also gives motivation for Slamet and Tukirah to be patient to face the problems and keep on going to live life.

“Thanks for the assistance. We hope it can be useful for me and my son, for our daily needs,” said Tukirah.

Ministry of Social Affairs through the Centres will continue to help and provide assistance for people in need. Ministry of Social Affairs also reminds us that the assistance should be used wisely.
