MAROS (27 September 2023) - Ministry of Social Affairs continues to increase preparations ahead of the implementation of the ASEAN High Level Forum (AHLF) on Disability-Inclusive Development and Partnership beyond 2025 in Makassar City.

One of the Technical Implementation Units (UPT) of Ministry of Social Affairs, Inten Soeweno Integrated Center (STIS) Bogor, prepared facilities at the location. This quick action is a follow-up to the direction of Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini on the previous occasion.

One of the locations that the AHLF participants will visit Leang-leang Geopark Maros-Pangkep Archaeological Park, South Sulawesi Province.

 "The team from STIS has measured and mapped several points.  We will install several supporting facilities so that they are accessible for participants.  It is hoped that the facilities that will be installed will make it easier for participants.  "We also provide portable toilets," said Head of STIS M.O Royani in Maros, Tuesday (26/9).

Before going to Leang-leang Geopark Archaeological Park location, the Head of STIS and his team coordinated with the Head of Maros Regency Social Office, the Head of the Tourism Service, the Subdistrict Head, and the local Village Head.

 "This is a big celebration not only for Ministry of Social Affairs, but also to bring Indonesia's name to the world stage, the implementation of which involves many related parties so that the event can run successfully and smoothly," said Oni.

Previously, Minister of Social Affairs stated that the AHLF event upholds the spirit of support of ASEAN countries towards persons with disabilities.  "No one left behind, including those with disabilities," explained Minister of Social Affairs.

The ASEAN High Level Forum (AHLF) on Disability-Inclusive Development and Partnership beyond 2025_ will be held in Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province, on 10 – 12 October 2023.

This high-level forum on Persons with Disabilities will be attended by 200 participants from representatives of ASEAN Sector Bodies, ASEAN affiliated organizations, organizations of persons with disabilities, ASEAN dialogue partners, and academics.

Ministry of Social Affairs, conducts the event, continues to make various preparations, especially facilities to support accessibility for participants, most of whom are persons with disabilities.

Scheduled for October 12, the delegates made a site visit to Social Service Center of Ministry of Social Affairs, Wirajaya Center in Makassar as one of the best practices for handling disabilities carried out by Indonesian Government.

As a host, Ministry of Social Affairs made AHLF an event to introduce the history and tourist attractions in Makassar City and its surroundings.  One of them is by holding a welcome dinner at Fort Rotterdam, which is a historical tourist attraction.

Through this meeting, it will also strengthen cooperation in the Southeast Asia Region through the projection of effective cooperation and partnerships on disability-inclusive development issues.
