Commission VIII of the House of Representatives Supports Multi-service at the Ministry of Social Affairs Center

MAKASSAR (November 8, 2022) - Support for the multi-service paradigm shift carried out by the Ministry of Social Affairs in handling social problems continues to flow from Commission VIII DPR RI. Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS) can access services at the Ministry of Social Affairs' centers according to their needs.

"So, the paradigm of the MoSA today is changing, for example in this center (Wirajaya). So far, it was only intended for people with disabilities, but now it is multi-service. So, not only serving people with disabilities but all social problems are almost covered by existing centers, both in Makassar, Takalar, Gowa and throughout Indonesia. So, we support MoSA," said Chairman of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives Ashabul Kahfi during a specific visit to the "Wirajaya" Center in Makassar along with Members of Commission VIII Samsu Niang, Buchori Yusuf, Endang Maria Astuti, Obon Tabroni, and Wastam, Tuesday (8/11).

The Chairman of Commission VIII admitted that he had visited "Wirajaya" Center in Makassar several times to hand over assistance to beneficiaries. "For the umpteenth time, we came to the "Wirajaya" Center in Makassar to provide attention, assistance to residents to maximize the empowerment of vulnerable people through ATENSI assistance," he said.

The visit aims to supervise the role of social centers under MoSA. Not only supervision, this visit also aims to witness and discuss in absorbing the aspirations of vulnerable groups as material for formulating policies in increasing the role of centers in overcoming social problems, especially in the South Sulawesi region.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Social Affairs Salahuddin Yahya expressed his gratitude for the support of Commission VIII who fought for the additional budget for the ATENSI program.

"Alhamdulillah, once again Alhamdulillah, for the struggle of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives, we received an additional IDR 493 billion," said Salahuddin Yahya.

The additional Rp493 billion will be distributed during November and December 2022 in the form of food assistance for the disabled and single elderly who are unable, as well as assistance for orphans.

On this occasion, Commission VIII of the House of Representatives handed over ATENSI assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs to beneficiaries worth Rp1,484,500,000.

The assistance is in the form of disability aids, assistance for vulnerable groups (PLWHA and Victims of Drug Abuse), three-wheeled motorcycles, and business capital assistance for 735 beneficiaries from three centers in South Sulawesi, namely "Wirajaya" Center in Makassar, "Gau Mabaji" Center in Gowa, and "Pangurangi" Center in Takalar.

"We, with our own eyes, today, witnessed so much assistance that will be handed over today," concluded Ashabul Kahfi.

Also attending the event were Head of "Wirajaya" Center in Makassar Heru Cahyono, Head of "Gau Mabaji" Center in Gowa Subhan Kadir, Head of "Pangurangi" Center in Takalar Nur Alam, Head of the Makassar Center for Social Welfare Education and Training (BBPPKS) Anna Puspasari, and Head of the Makassar City Social Service Aulia Arsyad.
