Disaster Recovery Phase, Ministry of Social Affairs Gives IDR 202 million to the Victims of Landslide Disaster in Nganjuk
NGANJUK, SATURDAY (June 3rd,
2023) – Ministry of Social Affairs distributes for people affected by a landslide
disaster in Nganjuk Regency, East Java Province in 2021. Post-disaster
assistance distributed is residential equipment for 161 people.
The post-disaster assistance
distribution is Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, instructing them to make sure that they can meet the people affected by the disaster’s
need. Following up on the Minister’s instruction, The Acting Head of Secretary
General and Director General of Social Protection and Security, Robben Rico,
distributes post-disaster assistance directly, not so long ago.
On the occasion, Robben
distributes assistance worth 144 million to 161 people inhabit the permanent
residents in the relocation area. The other assistances are logistical
assistance with blankets, mattresses, and others worth 44 million, and basic
food assistance worth 14 million. The total amount of assistance provided was
worth 202 million.
Robben says that he comes to
Ngetos Village, Nganjuk Regency under the Minister of Social Affairs’
instruction. “She sends a greeting to all of you. She said that every state
government’s effort and assistance are proof of the state’s presence in natural
disaster countermeasures. The state helps to ease the burden of the people
affected by disaster,” Robben says.
Robben hopes that the assistance
will be useful and can be used properly to help ease the victim’s burden. “I
hope the assistance can be used as it should be, and also able to help speed up
people activities’ recovery just like before the disaster strike,” he says.
A landslide disaster strikes in
Ngetos Village, Nganjuk Regency, on February 14th, 2021. The
disaster killed 19 people; 48 families/161 people had to be relocated due to
serious damage to their houses.
More than Half a Million
Ministry of Social Affairs has
responded to the landslide disaster by asking Tagana to carry out disaster
response activities. Tagana sets up a public kitchen, gives Psychosocial
Support Service (LDP), and helps distribute logistical assistance.
To meet the needs of the people, logistical
emergency response assistance worth Rp253.940.300, heir compensation of 19
deceased victims worth Rp285.000.000, and compensation for injured victims for
two persons worth Rp10.000.000. The total amount of emergency assistance from
