YOGYAKARTA (July 19, 2021) - The Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, responded to President Joko Widodo's directive to accelerate the distribution of social assistance.

Today, Social Affairs Minister Risma directly checked the beneficiaries of the Cash Social Assistance (BST), Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT)/Sembako Program, and the Family Hope Program (PKH).

Minister Risma visited villages in Gudeg City to meet some residents and have a dialogue. "Have you received BST?" asked the Minister.

"Already Ma’am, I received IDR 600 thousand," said Sari Bardani, a resident of RT 25 RW 7, Ngupasan, Yogyakarta City, Monday (19/7/2021).

The Minister walked away to the narrow alleys to meet other BST recipients. Pransius Rudi Assisi, who was nervous because he was shocked, was suddenly visited by the Minister at his house.

"Sorry to bother you, but I want to know, have you received BST assistance?" Rudi suffered from a stroke so he couldn’t answer the question, it’s hard for him to explain. His brother then helped him by answering that Rudi already received BST at the post office.

Continuing to check in other places, the Minister immediately asked the resident, Yani (40), who was registered as a PKH recipient.

"Are there any cuts during the disbursement of social assistance?" asked the Minister. "There were no cuts at all. I fully accept it, ma'am," he said.

Social Affairs Minister Risma reminded that her party would take firm action against the companions who were playing games. She emphasized that the companions carry out their mandate, namely to provide information to the recipients of social assistance.

"Thank you to the companions who have been honest and escorted the social assistance to the recipients. For residents, if someone is messing with the social assistance, just report it to me, later they won't take strict action!” said Risma.

To ensure field checks for recipients of BST, BPNT, and PKH social assistance, the Minister immediately took a photo of the ID card of the recipient of the social assistance.

In July 2021, DI Yogyakarta was recorded as distributing 186,017 Beneficiary Families (KPM) PKH, as many as 124,700 KPM BST. BPNT / Basic Food (Sembako) Cards totaling 383,220 KPM. Social assistance is already in the process of being distributed to KPM.

Accelerating the disbursement of BST, BPNT/Sembako Cards, and PKH social assistance as an anticipation of the impact of the Emergency PPKM policy so that MoSA optimizes social assistance which is expected to increase the purchasing power of beneficiaries.

MoSA is also working with Perum Bulog (State Logistics Agency) to distribute 10 kg rice packages for 10 million KPM PKH and 10 million KPM BST. Also distributed 5 kg of rice specifically for the informal sector workers in Java-Bali who were unable to work due to restrictions on activities in the Emergency PPKM.

For the supply and distribution of rice, MoSA partnered with Bulog which directly delivered aid to the beneficiaries.
