BREBES, TUESDAY (06/09/2022) - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini visited Muhammad Fiqri Al Baihaqi's house in Brebes, Central Java. This 11-year-old boy was diagnosed by a doctor as suffering from epilepsy and frequent seizures.

By driving a car Surabaya, Social Minister went directly to Fiqri's house in Pesantunan Village, Wanasari District, Brebes Regency, Central Java. The Minister of Social Affairs welcomed by Fiqri's parents and relatives.

To his family, the Minister of Social Affairs stated that with his young age, Fiqri has a great opportunity to improve his condition. However, it needs immediate and intensive treatment.

"By God willing, Fiqri can improve. But it needs intensive treatment," said the Minister of Social Affairs. For this purpose, the Minister of Social Affairs directly ask her staff to provide physiotherapy services.

"I will provide physiotherapy services for Fiqri. So that he can be handled specifically by the officers. Every day he has to get a treatment. In the hospital, many patients are treated," said the Minister of Social Affairs.

Families are educated to be able to do physiotherapy independently and regularly at home by applying eucalyptus oil and olive oil all over Fiqri's feet with leg movements to stimulate muscles and flex the leg bones.

To the family, the Minister of Social Affairs has offered that Fiqri can be treated at ‘Satria’ Baturraden Center owned by the Ministry of Social Affairs. However, with various considerations, the family chose Fiqri to be treated at home.

Fiqri's family has received from the Ministry of Social Affairs in the form of Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) and other assistance from the local government. Fiqri’s family is registered in the Social Welfare Integrated Data (DTKS) and has an active BPJS Health insurance card.

Fiqri was born normal, but at the age of 4 months he got ill (high fever). Treatment has been done several times but the fever recurs with convulsions. His father is a fisherman and his mother selling snacks, this family cannot afford Fiqri's medical expenses.

For the last three years, Fiqri has been taking medication independently at home using prescription drugs from the doctor and it can be repurchased at the nearest pharmacy.

In addition to epilepsy and seizures, Fiqri also experienced a delay in growth and development. Fiqri's legs cannot be moved and function normally, so he needs a wheelchair for taking a bath and other activities.

On this occasion, assistance was also given to Fiqri and his family in the form of assistance for ATENSI Entrepreneurship (tools and materials) for children's snacks; wardrobes and clothes for children; children's educational toy packages, assistance with basic needs and additional nutrition for children.

Also provided assistance with personal hygiene and washing equipment as well as bedding.

The Ministry of Social Affairs also provides assistance in the form of additional nutrition and proper living needs in the form of: protein milk, honey, eucalyptus oil, olive oil, multivitamins and soft foods. So far, parents only give him porridge and soy sauce.

ATENSI assistance was also provided in the form of money used for operational costs while undergoing treatment at the Brebes Hospital. The total assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs is Rp. 13 million. From the donators through kitabisa.com, donations of Rp. 58,704,905 were given in the form of cash money.
