The Minister of Social Affairs paid great attention to the disaster in Central Kalimantan with assistance of a total of IDR 6.7 billion

JAKARTA (November 1, 2022) - The policies of the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini received appreciation from various parties, especially in disaster management. During a visit to Katingan Regency, some time ago, the Social Minister's steps were praised.

The Minister of Social Affairs was present in Katingan to greet and hand over various assistance for flood victims in the area last year. The assistance handed over by the Minister of Social Affairs was in the form of 156 packages of fast-food, 102 packages of kids meals, 100 sheets of blankets, 50 packages of Kid ware, 50 packages of family kits, 50 packages of foodware, 50 packages of kitchen equipment, 100 sheets of mattresses, 50 sheets of rolled up tents, 100 packages of basic necessities and 25 packages of clothing.

The Regent of Katingan, Central Kalimantan, Sakariyas said that the visit of the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharani, was really beneficial for the regency government because it had provided advice in efforts to deal with the future floods.

"We thank the Minister of Social Affairs for coming to Katingan to see the people affected by this flood disaster," he said. It was not only the assistance that made Sakariyas appreciate, but also because the Minister of Social Affairs came to provide local government solutions to overcome the effects of the floods.

The Minister of Social Affairs pays great attention to disaster-affected communities in Central Kalimantan. On several occasions the Minister of Social Affairs attended directly and did not hesitate to break through the floods.

It was noted that the total assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs for flood-affected communities in Central Kalimantan throughout 2022 from January to October 2022 was a total of IDR 6.7 billion. The disasters that received assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs were floods in East Kotawaringin Regency on October 19, 2022; flood in Lamandau Regency on 19 October 2022; flood in Katingan Regency on August 5, 2022: flood in Kapuas Regency; and many more.

The quick and sensitive attitude of the Minister of Social Affairs received appreciation from many parties. The Minister of Social Affairs is considered a leader with a high "sense of crisis". "As the representative of the community, I really appreciate the quick steps of the Minister of Social Affairs. She came directly to the disaster site, met residents and distributed asisstance," said Anak Agung Gde Agung recently.

According to Gde, the Social Minister's leadership style should be a reference for policy makers both at the regional and central levels.
