CENTRAL MALUKU (May 5, 2023) - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini will form a Social Task Force in Central Maluku together with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda). Cases of rape have increased. As of May 2023, there were 14 cases in Central Maluku Regency.
The Minister made this statement when she visited the residence of FP (13), a child victim of rape by her neighbor who became pregnant and gave birth in Teon Nila Serua District, Central Maluku Regency, Friday morning (5/5/2023).
Sitting next to FP, Social Affairs Minister Risma held the hand of the 6th-grade elementary school student tightly while encouraging her and her family to rise again from their slump. Previously, FP and her family had received psychosocial recovery through hypnotherapy, art therapy, counseling, and education on self-care, parenting, and mentoring.
"You have to stay enthusiastic, keep going to school, honey. The mother needs to stay strong to support her child," said Social Affairs Minister Risma.
The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Directorate of Child Social Rehabilitation and the Meohai Kendari Center provided ATENSI assistance to FP worth IDR13,181,500 and entrepreneurship assistance to FP's family worth IDR6,000,000.
The rape case experienced by FP is one of dozens of immoral cases that have occurred in Central Maluku Regency. As of May 2023, there have been 14 immoral cases experienced by children and adults.
Realizing its urgency, Social Affairs Minister Risma is ready to help form a task force to handle social problems in Central Maluku Regency.
"Earlier, we discussed with the Regent and other local government officials that the formation of this social task force is important. We direct the community to engage in positive activities so that there is no more room for doing negative things," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
Assistance with Agricultural Equipment
Central Maluku Regency is known for its agricultural products. Its natural potential is promising but there are still limitations in its processing.
"Later I will help with the agricultural tools. Many natural products can be processed here, if the tools used are modern, the results will not only be rice and corn but also various kinds of fruits," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
The Minister suggested activities for children and teenagers, in addition to farming.
"They must be active and busy. We will provide sports facilities, libraries, and computers connected to the internet so that their bodies and minds are active," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
