JAKARTA (April 28, 2022) – Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini asked all levels to adapt to the transformation of the function of the Center into multi-service. The Minister emphasized that meaningful change must also be accompanied by strengthening and improving the best services for people in need.

For this purpose, the Minister directed that a thorough improvement be carried out as a technical service unit (UPT). Improvements were made to aspects of UPT equipment, skills, and knowledge, as well as attitudes and mindsets of UPT human resources.

To develop the capacity of human resources, the Minister will not hesitate to open opportunities for employees to study in developed countries. This is done to accelerate the strengthening of the quality of human resources and services.

To the leaders and staff, the Minister of Social Affairs reminded me, that the Center as a UPT is in the midst of communities throughout the country. That is, the Center is the face of the Ministry of Social Affairs in public.

“Our faces in front of the community are in the Centers. That is, the Center is the eyes, ears, mouth, feet, and hands of the Ministry of Social Affairs. Therefore, Centers must adapt to changes and improve services," said the Minister of Social Affairs when giving directions online at the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation in Jakarta, Wednesday (27/4).

Transformation is not only understood as a physical and material change. But furthermore, the Minister emphasized that the UPT leaders should ensure that there is a change in the UPT's internal way of thinking.

Leaders are asked not to use the old-fashioned way of thinking. "There is no longer the phrase 'if it used to be like this. It should be remembered that the face of the Ministry of Social Affairs has changed," she said.

In some places, it is still found that the performance of employees who prioritize physical appearance (room) but pay less attention to facilities and services.

“The rooms are nice but the service facilities are lacking, what for? I have only a meeting place, no special table. However, it can move the Ministry of Social Affairs," said the Minister.

He reminded the Ministry of Social Affairs to work with client satisfaction oriented, namely vulnerable groups as beneficiaries. Good service quality can be done based on sincerity.

Sincerity in serving helpless groups is also a teaching of any religion. She said the task of serving them was not just a world affair. But God also mandates us to pay attention to the fate of people who need help such as the poor and vulnerable groups.
