JAKARTA (2 March 2021) - The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs supports and appreciates the strategic role of social pillars in dealing with various social problems in society.

"The strength of the Youth Organization has entered the smallest alleys of society. We are sure that we can achieve the ideals of independence of the Indonesia, "said the Social Minister Tri Rismaharini accompanied by the Director General of Social Empowerment Edi Suharto when inaugurating the National Youth Organization (PNKT) for the 2020-2025 period at the Aneka Bhakti Building of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Salemba, Jakarta, Tuesday (2/3/2021).

 Youth Organization as one of the Potential Sources of Social Welfare (PSKS) that is fostered by the Directorate General of Social Empowerment (Ditjen Dayasos), Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) has played an active role in the efforts of organizing social welfare.

"One of them is through efforts to prevent and overcome social problems in the community, especially during the current COVID-19 pandemic," said the Social Minister.

The strategic role of Karang Taruna in developing pioneering values is ​​through strengthening in overcoming social problems, as well as being the pioneer of community movements in building in their respective environments.

Therefore, the Ministry of Social Affairs inaugurated and confirmed the PNKT as an effort to improve, develop and advance the Youth Organization to be more productive and conducive.

"Our fellows from Karang Taruna outside Java, make sure that there is no giving up, no words of despair. Come together, we build a more advanced country. Enjoy your duty on the Youth Organization, "said the Social Minister.

In the future, the Minister of Social Affairs hopes that Karang Taruna will become a role model for all. Pandemics are not an excuse to be complacent, but Karang Taruna continues to move forward in order to be able to overcome social problems.

"In this world, nothing is impossible. If there is a will there is a way. Like a lidi (a coconut bone leaf), if there is only one, we cannot use it, but if they are many and tied, they wield tremendous strength,” said the Social Minister

Present at the event were the Secretary General of the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Inspector General of the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Chairperson of the PNKT, the Chairperson of the MPKT (Youth Organization Council), the Chairperson of the Community Social Workers Association (IPSM), and the General Chairperson of the Indonesian National Council for Social Welfare (DNIKS).
