JAKARTA (September 2nd, 2022) - "Starting September 1st, Government has distributed Bantuan Langsung Tunai Bahan Bakar Minyak (BLT BBM) or Direct Cash Assistance of Fuel Oil through the Ministry of Social Affairs with a total of 12.96 T," said Minister of Social Affairs Republic of Indonesia Tri Rismaharini after attending coordination meeting of integrated handling for persons with psychosocial disabilities at the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs on Friday (2/9).

Symbolically, President Joko Widodo gave the BLT BBM to 100 Beneficiaries Groups (KPM) of Social Assistance which is Non Cash Food Assistance and Family Hope Program in Jayapura Regency, Sentani on Wednesday (31/8).

"This assistance is not only given to respond the price increases that is starting to be felt. But it also reducing the burden on family expenses and increasing the purchasing power of residents," said Risma.

This is in line with President Jokowi's mandate that assistance be provided to improve people's purchasing power and consumption.

Risma explained that the BLT BBM distribution scheme uses a top up system from each KPM Bansos one each and cannot be doubled.

The distribution process were use the services of PT Pos Indonesia. Assistance will be given for 4 (four) months, September to December 2022, each Rp150.000/month. However, the distribution mechanism is divided into 2 (two) stages. The first stage of September is Rp. 300.000,- followed by the second stage in December, worth another Rp. 300.000,-. So that the total assistance per beneficiary is Rp. 600.000,-.

The data used is still based on the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS). Risma ensures that there is no duplicate data. The Ministry of Social Affairs regularly improves data integrity, so that BLT BBM is expected to be felt by people who really need it. The data has been matched with Dukcapil or Citizenship and Civil Registration Data.

"Every month at least once I make a SK (Decree of the Minister of Social Affairs) for the improvement of this DTKS. So every month there is continuous improvement of the data because this data is dynamic. Some people might passed away, some might be born, some might be moved and so on, including those who should have graduated, which will later be updated," he said.

At the end of the meeting, Risma reaffirmed that the assistance provided was expected to support the community's economy.
