Carry out the Instructions of the Minister of Social Affairs, Public Kitchens of MoSA Fulfill the Food and Nutritional Needs of the Community

JAKARTA (July 10, 2021) - In line with the
instructions of the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini to activate
public kitchens, the Center as a technical implementing unit (UPT) within MoSA is immediately in action. The management of the public kitchen is open and
synergizes with other relevant agencies in the task areas of each UPT.
Minister of Social
Affairs Tri Rismaharini stated, that ready-to-eat food is distributed to meet the
food needs of health workers, PPKM guard officers, both TNI, Polri, and Satpol PP
around DKI and the buffer zone of the Capital City of DKI Jakarta, and in the
task areas of each UPT above.
In Jakarta, the public
kitchen of MoSA is centered in the Convention Building of the Main National
Heroes Cemetery (TMPNU) Kalibata, Jakarta. Yesterday, Minister Risma checked
the operational readiness of public kitchens in helping the needs of
ready-to-eat food for health workers. Social Minister hands-on operation by
asking about the readiness of cooking ingredients such as vegetables and meat.
The Minister also seemed
to participate in processing the ingredients into a large skillet. If yesterday
the public kitchen of TMPNU Kalibata produced an average of 10 thousand boxes
of ready-to-eat food and 10 thousand boiled eggs every day, today's production
has increased. Data from the Directorate of Social Protection for Natural
Disaster Victims (PSKBA), the public kitchen of TMPNU Kalibata has reached 15
thousand boxes of ready-to-eat food per day.
MoSA has established 4
(four) public kitchens, namely at MoSA’s Head Office in Salemba, TMPNU
Kalibata, Surabaya City, Bandung City and Surakarta City. On the instructions
of the Minister of Social Affairs, the Director General of Protection and
Social Security, Pepen Nazaruddin, through the Director of PSKBA Syafii
Nasution, established public kitchens in three cities, namely Bogor, Yogyakarta, and Denpasar.
The location of MoSA’s public
kitchen in Surakarta is located at the Prof. DR. Soeharso Center, in Yogyakarta
at the Regional III Center for Social Welfare Education and Training (BBPPKS),
and in Bogor Regency, it is located at Ciung Wanara Center. In Bandung, it is
located at Wyata Guna Center, and in Denpasar, it is located at Mahatmiya Center.
As for Surabaya, MoSA’s public kitchen is located in the courtyard area of
the Surabaya Convention Hall, Jalan Arif Rahman Hakim with distribution areas
in Surabaya, Bangkalan, Gresik, and Sidoarjo.
Thus, MoSA has operated
seven public kitchens to support government policies in the Implementation of
Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).
MoSA's public kitchen in Surakarta (Solo) is
supported by 12 personnel and can produce and distribute 1,880 packages
of boiled eggs (3,760 eggs).
The
operation of the public kitchen is equipped with 1 unit of the red and white tent,
1 unit of public kitchen truck, 1 unit of Rescue Tactical Unit (RTU), and 1
unit of operational vehicle for Prof. Dr. Soeharso.
Eggs
are distributed to five sub-districts in Solo, namely Serengan District 360
packages (720 items), Laweyan District 99 packages (198 items), Kliwon Market
District 280 packages (560 items), Banjarsari District 530 packages (1,060 items),
Jebres District 291 packages (582 grains). Eggs were also distributed in 40
packages (80 eggs) for cleaning staff and 30 packages (60 eggs) for the
Regional Disaster Management Agency.
In
synergy with the Klaten Regency Government, MoSA also helps distribute 4,097
boiled eggs for health workers, volunteers, and centralized self-isolated
residents.
In DI
Yogyakarta Province, the Head of BBPPKS Yogyakarta Murhardjani stated, that the
Public Kitchen Command Post was built at BBPPKS Purwomartani Campus, Kalasan
District, Sleman Regency with the support of 1 unit of Field Public Kitchen
truck.
“Starting
today (Saturday, 10/07) 1,000 boiled eggs are produced. The Public Kitchen
Command Post is operated by joint personnel from the DI Yogyakarta Social Office,
BBPPKS Yogyakarta, BBPPKS Yogyakarta and Tagana DI Yogyakarta,” said
Murhardjani (10/07).
In
addition to providing nutritional support in the form of eggs, BBPPKS
Yogyakarta also functions as the Jalan Veteran Umbulharjo Campus as a COVID isolation
shelter with mild symptoms and OTG. "This shelter is fully under the
operational control of the DI Yogyakarta Social Office," she said.
From
Bogor Regency, the Head of Ciung Wanara Center, Siti Sari Rumayanti, stated
that she had established and operated a public kitchen with a production
capacity of 1000 cooked eggs per day or for 500 people. "The distribution
of eggs is for additional nutrition for health workers in Bogor area. We sent
200 health workers (400 items) at Ciawi Hospital, Leuwiliang Hospital as many
as 300 items (150 packages), and Cileungsi Hospital 300 items (150
packages)," said Siti Sari (10/07).
The
central government has established an Emergency PPKM policy for Java-Bali. Following the central government's assignment, MoSA handles the field of
social protection. The distribution of ready-to-eat food and cooked eggs as
additional nutrition is part of MoSA's support in implementing social
protection policies.
In
addition, MoSA also distributes social assistance to increase people's
purchasing power during Emergency PPKM. Namely by distributing three types of
social assistance, namely the Family Hope Program (PKH), Non-Cash Food
Assistance (BPNT) / Basic Food Cards, and Cash Social Assistance (BST). MoSA in
collaboration with Bulog also distributed 10 kg of rice to KPM PKH and KPM BST,
which were intended to meet the basic needs of people affected by the pandemic.
