BOGOR (February 28th, 2024) – Living alone without relatives, Tan Sian Lie (76) or usually called Enci, is a vulnerable elderly person from Cibinong Sub Village, Ciapus Village, Ciomas District, Bogor Regency, West Java Province. She had lived alone since her husband died in 2021 due to an accident.
During this time, Enci had a pain in her legs so that to be able to walk, she had to move slowly with the help of a wooden stick. Enci also had a pain in her stomach, as well as loss of hearing.
"As she was old and couldn't work, and didn't have any income, for her daily food needs, as neighbors, we provided it for Enci," said Samilah, Enci's next door neighbor.
Knowing Enci's condition, the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) through the Directorate of Social Rehabilitation for the Elderly distributed Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) assistance in the form of nutritional packages, basic necessities and household equipment. Apart from that, MoSA also provided three-legged crutches to make it easier for her to carry out her activities, as well as providing food assistance three times a day to Enci by involving the nearest stall.
Enci was happy to receive various assistance, especially the help of three-legged crutches, which she felt were very useful in helping her with her daily activities.
Her enthusiasm seemed to grow again. A happy hue radiated from her face. Likewise, with her endless smile. Moreover, MoSA also invited her to have her health checked at Bogor Medika Hospital to find out what disease she was suffering from.
It didn't stop there, MoSA also helped manage and complete various Enci’s administrations, such as making Resident Identity Cards (KTP), Family Cards and BPJS Contribution Assistance Recipients (PBI), as well as including Enci in MoSA's Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS).
"We will continue to monitor and provide services to Mrs. Enci," said staff at the Directorate of Social Rehabilitation for the Elderly, Fajar Putra Nur Rahman.
