SUKOHARJO (October 1, 2019) - The Directorate for Poor Region held the Social Assistance Guidance for Social Assistance Joint Business Group for Agriculture-Based Prosperous Poverty Surgery (KUBE Works) in 2019 in Sukoharjo, Tuesday.
In his report, Director of Poor Handling for Region II, Mr. I Wayan Wirawan said that for KPM recipients of assistance to develop it would need to be accompanied by social assistance. KUBE Social Assistance is expected to be a KPM solution that has constraints in the limited knowledge and knowledge needed by KUBE who will advance its business. "For that, the facilitators need to be equipped with knowledge and knowledge about KUBE management and entrepreneurship," explained the Director of PFM Region II.
The event was officially opened by the Director General of Poor Handling (Dirjen PFM), Andi ZA Dulung. In his direction, the Director General of PFM conveyed the importance of the role of Social Assistance so that the Beneficiary Families (KPM) can be independent or graduated from poverty.
According to the Director General of PFM, if it only depends on social assistance, if the social assistance is stopped then the KPM will fall into poverty again. "The function of social assistance meets the basic needs of the family. The term we help reduce spending that had been the need to buy rice for 30 days to 20 days because the 10 days can already be met from the Non-cash Food Aid Program (BPNT) for rice and eggs, "explained Director General of PFM.
In this regard, the Director General of PFM also conveyed the need for empowerment so that KPM does not depend on receiving social assistance. For this reason, the Ministry of Social Affairs cooperates with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration through the KUBE Works program.
According to the Director General of PFM, this idea of cooperation emerged during the transformation of the Social Assistance for Prosperous Rice (Rastra) into BPNT. Through the BPNT program, KPM can not only buy rice but also eggs. "Actually, for the existence of chicken eggs in Indonesia, the amount is surplus but not evenly distributed. In the Batam area, there are still KPM who have difficulty in obtaining eggs because the price is expensive, "explained the Director General of PFM.
For this reason, through the KUBE Works program, it will later be arranged so that the existence of eggs is also more evenly distributed. "It can be through KPM that is given laying hens and then the eggs produced can be sold at the nearest warong and then bought through the BPNT program. So the supply of eggs in warong is not only from large farms, "added the Director General of PFM.
The Director General of PFM also hopes that the KUBE Works program can run well. According to him, besides this program can increase KPM income, this program can also help the KPM graduation so that they do not need to receive social assistance anymore.
