Today, Poltekesos Bandung graduated 364 students consisting of 18 graduates of
the Social Work-Study Program of the Applied Masters Program and 346 graduates
of the Social Work-Study Program of the Applied Undergraduate Program. Minister
of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini said that graduation is not the end but the
beginning of a real challenge.
"This is not the end but this is the beginning
for you. We are required to be the best for ourselves and the nation and
state. In the future, you are required from a social science perspective to
dedicate yourself to our beloved nation," said the Minister of Social Affairs
when delivering her speech offline, Tuesday ( 26/10/2021).
The Minister of Social Affairs shared experiences
and motivations to encourage graduates who will start working for the nation
and state. The hope is that the graduates of Poltekeseos Bandung can become
successful people and can provide many benefits for the surrounding areas.
According to the Minister of Social Affairs, Social
Science is one of the most difficult sciences to understand.
"Social problems are many and difficult to
solve, so therefore, with the knowledge that you have obtained, let's solve the
social problems that exist in our country," said the Minister of Social
Affairs.
The Minister of Social Affairs invites Poltekesos
graduates to understand Revolution 4.0 or 5.0. According to her, this
revolution has brought significant changes in various aspects of life,
especially about changes in the way people think, live, and patterns
of social relations.
"Bandung Poltekesos graduates must be able to
solve problems by thinking innovatively and collaborating. Challenges in social
welfare development are very complex and dynamic," said the Minister of
Social Affairs.
The Minister of Social Affairs gave an example when
she asked her staff to be able to create an electronic wheelchair.
"Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS) who
have severe disabilities cannot be helped with just an ordinary wheelchair, but
an electronic wheelchair that is tailored to the needs of each user," said
the Minister of Social Affairs.
On the same occasion, the Head of the Educational
Research and Social Counseling Agency (BP3S), Hartono Laras said that learning
at the Applied Bachelor and Applied Masters levels of Poltekesos Bandung had
been directed at the application and development of Social Work technology.
"The ratio of the application of the curriculum is 30 percent theory and 70 percent practice," said Hartono.
