YOGYAKARTA (8 October 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Education, Research, and Social Counseling Agency (BP3S) will support all efforts to improve the professionalism of social welfare human resources. Moreover, increasing the capability and quality of social welfare human resources is not an easy job.

One way to achieve this is by setting professional standards through competency certification. The center for professional development of social workers and social counseling (Pusbangprof Peksos & Pensos) officially handed over a certificate of certification to Tagana HR in the DIY Province, adding to the DIY Provincial Social Service on Friday (8/10/2021)

This was carried out after they were declared Competent in the Competency Test organized by the Social Work and Social Development Center and Social Services in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs' Professional Certification Institute (LSP).

The Ministry of Social Affairs’ LSP has obtained the Decree of the Head of the National Professional Certification Agency Number KEP. 0594/BNSP/III/2021 on Licenses to Professional Certification Institutions of the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (LSP Kemensos RI) on March 28, 2021.

According to the Head of Pusbangprof Peksos & Pensos, Tati Nugrahati said that the application of standardization in social work practice is carried out as a profession.

"In the future, all professions must have competence. Now we have started first to provide certification exams for Social Welfare HR," said Tati.

The implementation of certification for Social Welfare HR refers to the mandate of Law Number 11 of 2009 on Social Welfare, and Minister of Social Affairs Regulation Number 29 of 2017.

On the same occasion, the Head of the DIY Provincial Social Service, Endang Patmintarsih, expressed her appreciation and gratitude to the Ministry of Social Affairs.

"I appreciate and thank Pusbangprof BP3S for its role in facilitating competency tests and providing certification to Tagana DIY HR," she added

In the future, she also expressed her hope that for certified human resources there must also be follow-up through evaluation and studies in developing their capacity.

For information, the number of Tagana human resources in the DIY Province is 1,091 people. For 470 people have been proposed to take the competency test.
