JAYAPURA (31 August 2022) - President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, accompanied by Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini and Minister of State-Owned Enterprises RI, Erick Tohir, inspected 76 units of Healthy Houses in Doyo Village, Waibu District, Sentani, Jayapura, Papua Province.

A total of 76 units of this Healthy Houses were given to 76 families or 378 people who were victims affected by Sentani flash flood on March 19, 2019.

The total assistance provided is Rp. 30.7 billion. The assistance consists of procurement of residential land area of ​​13,170 m2, preparation of residential land and house construction, land acquisition for economic empowerment in area of ​​1.5 Hectare, the construction of Power House Solar Cells for house lighting, productive economic empowerment in the form of catfish farming, chicken and pig farming.

Joko Widodo requested that the houses that have been built can be immediately occupied by the beneficiaries. He also said that the government wants to build a good ecosystem.

"We really want to build a good ecosystem, housing as a good place to live and the Minister of Social Affairs has prepared on the right and left to grow crops, plant spinach, kale and others. Besides, there is chicken, pig, catfish farming, all of them is in the same environment," said Joko Widodo.

The housing is built with the concept of a productive healthy house, a place to live as well as a place to do business. This is indicated by the presence of a chicken coop with a capacity of 2,500 laying hens, a pig pen for 100 brooders, 9 catfish farming ponds equipped with pumps and water channels for pond circulation, and drainage channels in each cage and the creation of a kitchen/cooking place for feeding cattle.

This development is a manifestation of the government's presence through the Ministry of Social Affairs that the management is handed over to the Papua Alom Tujuh Enam Cooperation.

The Ministry of Social Affairs also facilitates residential lighting with 76 solar cell units installed in each house. For water sources, 10 units of drilled wells are also prepared to meet the needs of clean water.

Joko Widodo also emphasized that this is a good form of community empowerment. "Besides building houses, this is also good community empowerment. We hope prosperity will emerge from there," he said.

This productive healthy house program aims to make beneficiaries sustainable, empowered, independent and prosperous without being dependent on government assistance continuously.

The beneficiary of this healthy house said that the housing facilities were complete. Social Minister Risma's concern has been well received by the Papuan people, so they are now calling her "Mama Risma".

"Mama Risma really cares, we are facilitated by a decent house to live in. Maybe we are the first in Indonesia, everything is complete, type 36 house, 2 bedrooms, garage. front room, living room, toilet inside. Left and right, 3 meters of land left. I thank the President for facilitating the Minister of Social Affairs to continue this activity," said Desman Kogoya.

He hopes that in the future the President can also build schools, because children have to travel 4 km to school. Desman also wants a polyclinic to be built near the health house.

In response to this, Social Minister Risma will build a Community Center as a place to learn with children.

"Later, there will be a Community Center which is made for children's learning. They can use this and don't need to have their own TV, they can watch together here, rather not individually. Then they can learn. We will give them computers so they can learn computers," said Social Minister Risma.

In addition, the Empowerment Program in healthy houses will receive further guidance and assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs in line with the purpose of building this healthy housing.
