M. Jamil Eager to Run a Business After Receiving House and Motorcycle from MoSA

EAST ACEH (March 30, 2024) - M. Jamil seemed very happy when he received assistance for an earthquake-resistant liveable house and business development assistance in the form of a three-wheeled motorcycle from the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Living in a wooden house with a dirt floor and thatched roof is a memory for M. Jamil and his family. Because the Minister of Social Affairs together with the Compass Humanitarian Fund (DKK) has built earthquake-resistant liveable houses for 11 poor people including M. Jamil.

Zulfikli, Head of Seuneubok Simpang Village said that in addition to receiving earthquake-resistant housing assistance, the 11 residents also received business development assistance and business capital assistance in the form of spices.

Previously, M.Jamil had gone viral on social media for living in an uninhabitable house with his wife and in-laws. The case entered the Ministry of Social Affairs news scanning team then the Ministry of Social Affairs Team came down to conduct a needs assessment of Muhammad Jamil. The assessment is the initial requirement for further action, whether it is feasible or not to get assistance.  Then from the results of the assessment M. Jamil is entitled to get this assistance.

After receiving assistance, M. Jamil with new hopes will try to use the motorbike to sell spices and other goods from one place to another to increase his income so that he can be economically independent.

Three-wheeled motorcycle assistance was provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Inten Soeweno Integrated Center (STIS) worth Rp. 42 million. The motorcycle assistance was handed over directly by the Minister of Social Affairs during a working visit to East Aceh.

Zulkifli expressed his gratitude for the various assistance received by his citizens. "We hope that in the future the programs that have been provided by the Minister of Social Affairs can be useful and continue for other poor people," said Zulfikli.
