BENGKULU (February 4, 2023) - Member of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives Mohammad Soleh appreciated the performance of the "Dharma Guna" Center in Bengkulu. Present at the aid distribution activity at the Center office in Selebar District, Bengkulu City, Soleh ensured that the Ministry of Social Affairs' Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) was distributing assistance right on target.

"Alhamdulillah, I see that the "Dharma Guna" Center in Bengkulu has done its job well. All assistance has been distributed and is right on target. I as a member of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives appreciate the "Dharma Guna" Center in Bengkulu which has made every effort to distribute this assistance," said Soleh in Bengkulu, Saturday (4/2).

In line with the direction of Social Minister Tri Rismaharini, the UPT is an extension of the Ministry of Social Affairs in ensuring that the poor and vulnerable receive state assistance. For this purpose, Soleh was present at the Sentra "Dharma Guna" in Bengkulu to witness and symbolically distribute Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) assistance.

On that occasion, Sentra together with Commission VIII distributed ATENSI assistance to 10 Social Welfare Service Providers (PPKS) with a total value of Rp18,362,000 and entrepreneurship assistance to 27 PPKS with a total value of Rp148,500,000.

Soleh explained his presence as a representative of the people to fulfill his duties, especially in the supervisory and budgetary functions. "Today, I attended the ATENSI and entrepreneurship assistance distribution event as a member of the DPR. I am obliged to ensure that all this assistance is delivered and right on target," he said.

Previously, the former Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) had attended several aid distribution activities at the "Dharma Guna" Center in Bengkulu. During that time, he also witnessed how the Sentra performed. In his presence this time, he assessed that the ranks of the "Dharma Guna" Center in Bengkulu worked 'neatly and on target'.

"I really appreciate the existence of this "Dharma Guna" Center. The work (in distributing aid) is neat and right on target. Hopefully in the future we will fight together with a bigger budget," he said.

Commission VIII ensures that it will continue to support the Ministry of Social Affairs program by approving the budget increase. Soleh stated that Commission VIII had held a meeting with the Ministry of Social Affairs to discuss budget support.

"I saw that the Ministry of Social Affairs requested an additional budget. Commission VIII has never rejected this request. We fight for it. Because we know, the additional budget is (ultimately to fulfill) the hopes for the people," he said.

Soleh added, social assistance must be able to reduce the number of poor people become smaller. "So don't add more, later this hall building will not fit," he said.

In her remarks, Head of the "Dharma Guna" Center in Bengkulu Syam Wuryani stated, following up on the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs, the Center distributed ATENSI as one the efforts to fulfil standard needs of the beneficiaries to have a better life physically, mentally, and psychosocially.

“Entrepreneurship assistance was given to accelerates the poverty management. With this assistance, beneficiaries can develop his business either new or existed. Thus, this assistance is expected to help realize an independent, advanced, and prosperous society,” said Syam Wuryani.
