Social Minister Risma Delivered Assistances Directly to Puncak Jaya

MULIA, PUNCAK JAYA (August 12, 2022) - Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini visited Puncak Jaya Regency, Papua by bringing a number of assistance needed by the community.

Upon arrival at Mulia Airport, Puncak Jaya, the Minister of Social Affairs and her entourage were greeted by the Regent of Puncak Jaya, Dr. Yuni Wonda, S.Sos, S.IP, MM, Deputy Regent of Puncak Jaya Deinas Geley with the Forkopimda entourage accompanied by dances performed by local youths.

The location of the first visit was the Noble Bible School. In front of the students and teachers, Social Minister Risma said that she had wanted to go to Puncak Jaya for a long time, since becoming the Mayor of Surabaya. Today, the wish can only come true.

“We have plans to install solar panels at several points. So that children can play at home because of the light,” he said.

Social Minister Risma invites the community to build optimism and brotherhood, especially infrastructure development which has implications for the development of Human Resources. "Let's get up. Who knows in Puncak Jaya there will be an extraordinary child to replace all of us," said Risma motivating the students of the Noble Bible School.

 

To make this happen, Risma promised to install solar panels at 10 points and install orbits so that children can connect to the internet. "We hope that there will be no more darkness. I hope (to) Mr. President (that) all areas in Puncak Jaya and other areas can be bright, so that children can play in the evening calmly, "he said.

In addition, Ministry of Social Affairs has also prepared 17 electric trail bikes which can later be used for logistics distribution. "Later, 17 electric trail bikes will be ready. Each church center will install a charger to charge it, so there is no need for fuel, no need for gasoline. We prepare that to transport goods,” said the Minister.

Minister of Social Affairs also said that the Ministry of Social Affairs had built a social barn in Puncak Jaya Regency. The social barn provides logistics in the form of 1,000 ready-to-eat food packages, 1,000 pairs of adult clothes, 1,000 blankets, 500 pairs of children's clothes, 304 children's food packages, and 3 sets of multi-purpose tents.

In the same place, a teacher at the Noble Bible School, Mrs. Miriyam expressed her hope to the Minister of Social Affairs to be assisted in the construction of the Bible School Hall and the health building. He said that so far, every Bible School student's graduation has always been held in an open space because there is no school hall.

The Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, responded and promised to build a hall and health building which was greeted with applause from the Noble Bible School students.

In that precious moment, Social Minister Risma symbolically handed over social assistance worth Rp. 503,209,620,- to Mr. Komarudin Watubun and then handed over to the Regent of Puncak Jaya, Dr. Yuni Wonda. The assistance was in the form of 1,000 packages of snacks and milk, 1,000 pairs of adult clothing in the form of shirts and pants, 1,000 pieces of children's clothing, 20 soccer balls, 20 badminton rackets, 10 badminton nets, 10 tube shuttlecocks, 5 children's swings, and 5 children slides.

Social Minister Risma seemed familiar with the Noble Bible School students who diligently listened to her directions. Risma also invited one of the children named Tori to have a dialogue. "Tori, what game do you like?" Immediately Tori mentions liking football. Suddenly, the Minister presented him with a football and a shirt. "All my children must be brave, right." Ibu Risma's message was followed by laughter from the audience.

After visiting the Mulia Bible School, the Minister and her entourage continued their visit to the Mulia Hospital to directly observe cataract surgery for underprivileged residents.

In this occasion, Minister of Social Affairs also received an extraordinary response from the community. Cheers accompanied the journey in the Mulia District, Puncak Jaya. Kindergarten to high school students were seen lined up along the road, waving flags while singing the national anthem. The atmosphere became even more lively when the Minister of Social Affairs got out of the car and approached the children to say hello and distribute t-shirts. The students and the community took turns asking for selfies which were greeted enthusiastically by the Minister of Social Affairs.
