WEST BANDUNG (April 26th, 2024) – Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini inaugurated Bale Lembang Nusantara Economic Hero (PENA) Outlet in Lembang, West Bandung Regency, West Java, Thursday (25/4). Bale Lembang, has not only been transformed into a place for products from Lembang, but also products created by PENA Beneficiary Families (KPM) throughout Indonesia through 17 Centers and 3 Education and Training Centers of the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA).

On that occasion, the Minister expressed her appreciation to the KPMs who have been creative and produced quality products. She hoped that through PENA Store, PENA products can be better known and in demand by the public, so that they can increase KPMs’ income and welfare.

"This outlet is intended to achieve equality for all KPMs regardless of their condition. This space is provided free of charge to underprivileged KPMs, both PENA friends with disabilities, and those who are still below the poverty line, so that they can stand on an equal footing with our other brothers and sisters," said her.

The opening of PENA Store was part of an integrated approach to poverty alleviation efforts through PENA program. KPMs did not only receive capital in the form of production equipment and raw materials, but also received training and assistance in production, packaging and branding, as well as direct and online marketing access to develop their businesses.

One of the baristas at Bale Lembang, Ahmad Fauzi, with hearing and speech limitations, whose latte received praise from the Minister of Social Affairs, said that he was proud that the Minister came to taste his work.

"I am happy and proud that the Minister came to Bale Lembang because I feel appreciated, so I will be more enthusiastic in selling. Thank you, Minister of Social Affairs," said him. Fauzi, who previously earned income from online motorcycle taxis, now earns additional income to save and meet daily living needs.

On the other side, Dede Supriatna, a person with physical disabilities who sells cake blocks in Bale Lembang, was happy after his cake blocks were tasted by the Minister of Social Affairs. "I promise, I will be more enthusiastic in working, so that after graduating from Bale Lembang, I can open a bigger and more advanced business," he said.

Apart from a variety of snacks, PENA Bale Lembang outlet also sells various Indonesian Batik, as well as superior crafts at affordable prices. Meanwhile, the choice of the first location for PENA outlet in Lembang was considered effective as it was strategic, located near Lembang Market, and shady. The cool air is suitable enough to visit while relaxing with the family.
