JAKARTA (April 27th, 2024) – Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini stated that the power of design packaging is able to influence consumer attractiveness, thereby increasing selling prices. For this reason, the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) is paying special attention to increase the selling price of Beneficiary Families(KPMs) products from Nusantara Economic Hero (PENA) which is being fostered by MoSA through design packaging.
“The strength of the product being sold not only depends on its delicious taste, but also on the packaging design. Good packaging design will add value to the product," said her in front of young designers who took part in Tatarupa Designer Summit 2024 at MoSA’s Aneka Bhakti Building in Jakarta, Friday (26/4). Tatarupa Designer Summit 2024 aims to provide an opportunity for young designers to gather, network and collaborate in rebranding the packaging of various PENA beneficiary products.
PENA is the MoSA’s effort to alleviate community poverty. Apart from receiving capital in the form of production equipment and raw materials, PENA KPMs also received training and assistance in terms of production, making design packaging and branding, as well as access to direct and online marketing to develop their business. As of March 2024, MoSA has graduated 21,333 PENA KPMs throughout Indonesia.
On this occasion, the Minister expressed her appreciation in the form of certificates to the young designers who are members of Tatarupa Nusantara and have previously carried out rebranding and packaging of PENA beneficiary products. Rebranding packaging has been carried out for 384 PENA KPMs in Jabodetabek area. "Thank you for the support of students from 12 universities who have created creative and attractive product designs," said Social Minister Risma.
Seeing Tatarupa Nusantara's success in branding and packaging, in 2024, Tatarupa Nusantara will reorganize the packaging for 1,000 PENA KPMs throughout Indonesia. MoSA will continue to encourage PENA's beneficiaries to practice and innovate, so that their products are more attractive and upgraded, so they have a wider market share.
