EAST ACEH (February 28th, 2024) – Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini paid a working visit to East Aceh Regency, Aceh Province. The Minister was present to hand over assistance from Kompas Humanitarian Fund House (DKK) and the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) for the construction of Integrated Prosperous Houses (RST) for eleven beneficiaries in Seuneubok Simpang Village, Darul Aman District, East Aceh Regency, Aceh Province.
Of the eleven livable earthquake-resistant houses, eight of them were a
form of collaboration with DKK, while the other three were grants from
MoSA with an area of 32 square meters for each house.
The Minister said that the houses were deliberately designed to be earthquake-resistant using special bricks reinforced with concrete. Brickmaking was carried out by the community, and the products were then traded widely so that they could drive the economic wheels of the local community.
The construction of the houses was based on the results of media scanning by the MoSA. Previously, only three houses were reported to be uninhabitable. However, after MoSA’s team came to the field, eight other uninhabitable houses were found, so there were eleven houses which were then rebuilt with earthquake-resistant house characteristics.
"Not only three houses reported through media scanning, but it turned out there were also neighbors whose houses were in the same damaged condition. Finally, we agreed, we will help 11 housing units," said the Minister. The total housing assistance from DKK and MoSA was worth a total of IDR 1.922 billion.
When handing over the house assistance, DKK Executive Manager Anung Wendyartaka said DKK was very grateful to be able to collaborate with MoSA in building earthquake-resistant houses. "Hopefully this collaboration can continue in other fields," said Anung.
Besides providing housing assistance, the Minister also provided other assistance in the form of business development assistance from "Insyaf" Center in Medan worth IDR 1.2 million and business capital worth IDR 5 million; a three-wheeled motorbike from "Inten Soeweno" Integrated Center (STIS) in Cibinong worth IDR 42 million to M. Jamil who was a victim during the social conflict.
Furthermore, through the Directorate of Social Protection for Natural Disaster Victims (PSKBA), MoSA also provided assistance in the form of people's stoves worth IDR 214,524 million and Productive Economic Business Assistance (UEP) for interlock bricks worth IDR 88,893 million. The Minister also took the time to review the construction process of one of the houses built using grant funds from MoSA.
