Minister of Social Affairs Launches Advanced Drop Box to Prevent Social Aid Brokers
JAKARTA (January 11, 2024) – Now, people do not need to be confused about where to complain when they have social problems. Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini inaugurated the correspondence Drop Box on Thursday (11/1) at the Ministry of Social Affairs Office. Apart from being a place to accommodate the aspirations of the community, this DropBox was also launched to avoid social assistance brokers.
"From now on, you can only submit letters from this DropBox because it is equipped with a camera. So that, I will know if people who repeatedly enter it," said Social Affairs Minister Risma.
Social Affairs Minister Risma said that she had found people who repeatedly submitted proposals, but after being checked directly, it turned out that the names in the proposal had never submitted their names. It can be concluded that the person who submitted the proposal is a broker. This DropBox can avoid these things because the machine immediately records the face and identity of the sender of the letter or document.
This machine is located at the right gate of the Ministry of Social Affairs Office in Salemba, Jakarta. The people only need to prepare an identity card in the form of an ID card or driver's license and a letter or document to be submitted to the Ministry of Social Affairs. After preparing both, the machine can be operated independently or with the help of security officers who are always ready to help operate the machine for 24 hours every day.
By pressing the "start" button, the machine will take a photo of the person who submitted it directly. Then, the sender of the letter must insert the identity card in the niche specifically provided for photographing identity cards. After the identity card is recorded, the machine will issue two barcode sheets. One sheet of barcode is a sticker to be attached to the document, and the other sheet serves as a receipt that can be checked through a QR scan. The document that has been affixed with the barcode is then placed in a box inside the machine and the submission is complete. The whole process only takes less than five minutes. The community does not need to wait long.
Furthermore, the Minister of Social Affairs revealed that now everything must be technological and every day there must be improvements so that our lives can be useful. Therefore, this correspondence DropBox machine is one of the efforts to keep up with these technological developments. The correspondence DropBox initiated by the Minister of Social Affairs was further conceptualized and designed by Special Advisor to the Minister for Human Resources and Program Development of the Ministry of Social Affairs Suhadi Lili.
The total preparation of the design and manufacture of this correspondence DropBox machine took two to three months.
"This is Mrs. Social Affairs Minister who came up with the idea. To design it takes about two to three months, but the manufacture is only about two weeks," said Suhadi.
