JAKARTA (December 29th, 2022) - After the end of the emergency response period for Cianjur earthquake on November 21st, Ministry of Social Affairs has withdrawn the team from the evacuation points. However, seeing the condition of the people in need, Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini took the initiative to mobilize assistance, in collaboration with the community, the private sector and public figures.

"We see the conditions there, people are still in need. Therefore, after the revocation, we cannot help, but we can help from outside for the needs of the community," said Risma in front of the media crew who attended the Main Office of the Ministry of Social Affairs in Jakarta, Thursday (29/12).

Risma released assistances in the form of 50 tons of rice transported by seven trucks. The assistance is the result of donations from several entities, namely kitabisa.com, Mercedez Benz Distribution Indonesia, Salam Setara, Kahf, Lesti Kejora, The Sungkars, Sandra Dewi, and Husain Basyaiban.

According to the Minister, this assistance is an implementation of the mutual cooperation attitude upheld by the Indonesian people. "Hopefully this can encourage us to do mutual cooperation together. If one is pinched, the others will also feel it so that with the belief that we can work together, then no matter how difficult and heavy the problem is, we can solve it together," said the former Mayor of Surabaya.

Despite having withdrawn the team, the Minister emphasized that tents, public kitchen equipment, and other equipment needed are still in Cianjur considering that there are still people who are displaced.

On that occasion, President Director of PT Mercedez Benz Distribution Indonesia Cho Duk Jun, who was also present at the time, said that he felt the grief felt by the people of Cianjur. Therefore, the car distributor donated Rp200 million which was spent in the form of rice.

"So, today, Mercedes Benz Distribution Indonesia is very happy to be able to donate Rp200 million for earthquake victims. We hope that this assistance can help the people who are currently in the recovery process," he said.

In line with Cho, CEO of kitabisa.com Alfatih Timur revealed that this donation is a form of mutual cooperation, citizens helping citizens. For this reason, his party needs the right facilitator so that donations can be delivered properly.

"So, community mutual cooperation, the hashtag is citizens helping citizens. We must be able to help effectively, one of which is facilitated by the Ministry of Social Affairs," he said.

Meanwhile, the event was attended by Executive Director of Salam Setara Foundation Ahmad Mujahid, Echelon I Officials, and Echelon II Officials of the Ministry of Social Affairs.
