Social Minister Reported 3 Completed Social Aids

JAKARTA (4 November 2020) - The realization of the National Economic Recovery (PEN) budget at the Ministry of Social Affairs continues to increase. In a press conference at the State Palace (04/11), Social Minister Juliari P. Batubara announced that three social aid programs (bansos) had completed.

"Three social aids have been distributed 100%. The realization of the PEN budget at the Ministry of Social Affairs per this day reaches IDR112 trillion or 87.44%. Then we just have to wait for the realization schedule for the remaining budget,” said Minister Juliari when delivering a Press Statement at the State Palace.

The three completed programs are the Family Hope Program (PKH), Cash Social Aid for Sembako Program/Non-PKH beneficiaries (KPM), and Rice Social Aid Program (BSB).

PKH Social Assistance is for 10 million KPM with a budget of IDR 36.8 trillion. Cash Social Aid for Sembako Program/Non-PKH beneficiaries reaches 9 million KPM with a budget of IDR 4.5 trillion. Rice Social Aid (BSB) for 10 million KPM with a ceiling of IDR. 5.26 trillion has been completely distributed in the form of 450,000 tons of medium quality rice.

"We officially closed BSB program yesterday in Kendal," said the Minister of Social Affairs. In his presentation, Social Minister stated that BST had been completely distributed with a note that the realization reached only IDR. 3.29 trillion (62.47%).

"This is just the administrative process as physically, 450,000 tons of medium quality rice from Bulog has been distributed,”he said.

The realization of the Ministry of Social Affairs budget including the PEN budget continues to be in the highest position among Ministries/Agencies. On various occasions, Minister Juliari emphasized all ranks to maintain and increase the achievement.

According to the minister, maintaining high budget absoIDRtion is very important. Especially since a number of Ministry of Social assistance programs are included in the PEN program. Of the PEN budget of IDR 204.95 trillion in 2020, more than half of them are in the Ministry of Social Affairs.

“It’s more than a half. If the budget realization at the Ministry of Social Affairs is not optimal, it will seriously disrupt the PEN program, "he said. The Minister of Social Affairs also asked his staff to ensure that the realization of the Ministry of Social Affairs continues to exceed other ministries/agencies by a significant margin.

On various occasions, Minister Juliari stated that performance achievements could not be separated from the solidarity and strong commitment of the Ministry of Social Affairs ranks. Social Minister emphasized that this performance should be maintained and improved.

Ministry of Social Affairs is still able to maintain and even improve its performance. This achievement marks the 1st year of Juliari P. Batubara as Minister of Social Affairs.

Since the pandemic broke out, the Minister of Social Affairs and all ranks went straight to the distribution point of social aids. The goal is to accelerate the distribution of aid because the community is waiting for the aids. "This is the state responsibility. With a large budget, the Ministry of Social Affairs must perform well, "he said.
