Ministry of Social Affairs Accepts Field Work Visit of UIN Salatiga Students

JAKARTA (February 27, 2024) - The Ministry of Social Affairs received a visit from 200 students of the Islamic Broadcasting Communication Study Program (KPI) and the Islamic Community Empowerment Study Program (PMI) of the Faculty of Da'wah, State Islamic University (UIN) Salatiga on Tuesday (27/2) at the Aneka Bhakti Building, Ministry of Social Affairs, Central Jakarta.

This visit is intended to improve the competence of students who are then prepared to become professionals in their respective fields. In addition, to broaden their horizons and explore the public relations function in the context of community empowerment in the digital era.

The UIN Salatiga student delegation was led by the Vice Dean 1 for Academic Affairs and Institutional Development of the Faculty of Da'wah UIN Salatiga, Dr. Achmad Maimun, M.Ag. In his remarks, Dr. Achmad Maimun explained that fieldwork visits are an important part of the curriculum of the Faculty of Da'wah, which provides opportunities for students to learn directly in government and non-government institutions.

"We would like to thank the Ministry of Social Affairs for receiving us. Although this visit is short, we hope this experience can provide a memorable picture and inspire students to become a quality generation in the future in the world of work," said Dr. Achmad.

The speakers in this activity were the Expert of the Minister of Social Affairs for Communication, Try Harijono, the Junior Expert Planner at the Directorate of Social Empowerment Dede Nurdin, and the Public Relations Manager at the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation, Hamdan.

Try Harijono conveyed the important role of public relations in establishing inter-institutional relations in publications, documentation of Ministry of Social activities, and media monitoring.

"The Ministry of Social Affairs conducts media monitoring to find out the problems that occur in the community and then respond," said Try. He also emphasized the importance of social media today as a means of publicizing institutional activities.

Another speaker, Dede Nurdin explained the Nusantara Economic Heroes (PENA) program as a form of social empowerment carried out by the Ministry of Social Affairs. Encouraging vulnerable people to get out of poverty and social assistance by giving them entrepreneurial skills.
