Ministry of Social Affairs Distributes ATENSI Assistance for 75 Beneficiaries in East Sumba
KUPANG (16 June 2023) -The state government through Ministry of Social Affairs keeps working on improving the
welfare of Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS) including vulnerable
families, elderlies, and people with disability.
One of the
efforts is to distribute assistance in remote areas. Ministry of Social
Affairs through Efata Center in Kupang distributes Social Rehabilitation
Assistance (ATENSI) in East Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT).
The
assistance is distributed to 75 beneficiaries (PM). It is worth Rp.172.185.000.
The social worker of Efata Center in Kupang, Ricky Hilmansyah, says the Center
has assessed each beneficiary before distributing the assistance. They have
been assessed for what they need. Thus, the assistance distributed is according to their needs,” Ricky says.
Based on
the assessment result, Ministry of Social Affairs distributes 5 tricycle
motors, 41 entrepreneurship packages including kiosks, broilers farms, pig
farms, and goat farms; 2 packages of school equipment, and 27 packages of
proper live compliances.
The Acting
Head of East Sumba Social Office, Harus Rodis Marambadjawa, appreciates the
assistance distributed by Ministry of Social Affairs. “ATENSI assistance
distributed by Ministry of Social Affairs is expected to help Social Welfare
Service Recipients in developing social potency and economy,” he says while
witnessing the assistance distribution live.
One of the
beneficiaries of the tricycle motors, Wunnu Kilimandu (44), says that the
assistance distributed will be beneficial for his mobility in
entrepreneurship. As a person with a physical disability, he works as a farmer
every day to meet his daily needs. He often sells vegetables and fruits to his
neighbors. “I will be able to travel and get more customers with this
tricycle,” he says.
In
addition to selling harvest, he receives repair service and mobile tire
repairs. Thus, the tricycle will be very useful for him.
Regional
Secretary of East Sumba, Umbu Ngadu Ndamu, also attends the assistance
distribution event.
