SIDOARJO (October 29, 2023) - The Ministry of Social Affairs in collaboration with Astra Insurance held Nusantara Economic Heroes (PENA) Roadshow in Sidoarjo. A total of 68 PENA Beneficiary Families (KPM) consisting of 50 PENA KPM, 15 PENA Berdikari KPM, and 3 PENA Disability KPM were present to showcase their various superior products at the Candi District Office, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java, Sunday (29/10).

"I made this program first for poverty alleviation, secondly, for me, those who are really struggling are heroes for their families." said the Minister of Social Affairs in front of the KPM and guests present at the Candi District Office Hall.

In this roadshow, Asuransi Astra handed over capital assistance worth Rp250 million to 50 KPM PENA Sidoarjo. Vice President of Asuransi Astra Djoko Nugroho Anindito said the Ministry of Social Affairs has the same values and mission as Asuransi Astra.

"We want to participate in this PENA program because we see the value and mission in accordance with our company. We want to be a business citizen who carries out social responsibility and sustainably changes the environment," said Djoko.

In addition to exhibiting a variety of products ranging from food, specialty drinks, bags, bonsai, KPM who attended could also conduct free design and financial management consultations at the PENA Business Clinic. This clinic is in collaboration with Tata Rupa Nusantara, which is led by young people who are experts in design, financial management, and product marketing.

Also present at the PENA Sidoarjo Roadshow was Chef Marsum from Surabaya Hotel School (SHS) who taught KPM and PENA TV viewers how to make banana crispy and comb bread in a cooking workshop.

The PENA Roadshow in Sidoarjo also presented alumni of Surabaya Economic Heroes who are now successful.

The Minister also shared their success stories to support KPM who are just starting their businesses and running the PENA Program. The Minister emphasized that anyone can achieve success as long as it is accompanied by determination and serious effort in running a business.

Also attending this activity were Candi Sub-District Head Luchman Sanjaya, Head of the UMKM Development and Consumer Protection Department of Bank Indonesia Yunita Resmi Sari, Special Staff of the Minister of Social Affairs, and other Ministry of Social Affairs officials.
