SURAKARTA (February 26, 2020) - Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P. Batubara, represented by Secretary General Hartono Laras, received an award for Archives with an A (Satisfactory) predicate from the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI).

"It's a leap of accomplishment. Last year the Ministry of Social Affairs obtained the title of "Good". Alhamdulillah, immediately jumped to the A "Satisfying" predicate," said Hartono after receiving the 2019 National Archives Award at The Sunan Hotel Surakarta, Central Java, Wednesday.

The Ministry of Social Affairs, continued Hartono, obtained a 2019 Archival Supervision Result Value of 89.22 or an increase of 13.02 from the 2018 supervision result with a value of 76.20.

"This award is a motivation, an increase in enthusiasm, a commitment to continue to improve managing state archives," he continued.

Hartono said that the Ministry of Social Affairs has carried out several archival management efforts, namely submitting historical archives to ANRI, and has destroyed archives that are no longer important, facilitative, and substantive.

"On behalf of the Minister of Social Affairs, I would like to thank the ranks, archivists, and the team that handles the archives, namely the General Affairs Bureau. Of course, keep the spirit of continuing to improve the management of our archives," said Hartono.

He said that the Minister of Social Affairs asked all levels of the Ministry of Social Affairs to continue to improve the quality of good governance.

"In the future, we will organize the Ministry of Social Affairs archive system to follow technological advances by building an archive digitization system. We also strive to socialize both at the central and regional levels to realize and understand the importance of archives and documentation," he concluded.

Meanwhile, the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform, Tjahjo Kumolo, in his directive, said in the context of Bureaucratic Reform, people want government services that are fast and not limited by the distance of time and space.

"One is the need for an electronic-based data system, especially archival data. With this system, it is hoped that an integrated, authentic, reliable, dynamic, secure, fast, simultaneous, and directed archival data system is created," said Tjahjo Kumolo.

Tjahjo Kumolo revealed that ANRI, as a national archival institution, must be able to mobilize and organize agency archives at the central and regional levels.

"And ANRI must be able to ensure that archival policies must always be up-to-date following the times and technology," he continued.

On this occasion, ANRI gave the 2019 National Archives award to 103 Ministries/Institutions/Local Governments, one of which was the Ministry of Social Affairs.

The Acting Head of ANRI, M. Taufik, said that the National Archives award was held to create a healthy competition nuance to realize a better quality of archival administration.

Present at the event were representatives of the Minister of Home Affairs, Governor of Central Java, Chairman of the Ombudsman, Mayor/Regent of Surakarta, and 850 archive managers from Ministries/Institutions/Local Governments.
