Ministry of Social Won Top 99 Public Service Innovation Award

JAKARTA (July 19, 2019) - Minister of Social Affairs Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita appreciated the achievements of the Ministry’s work units who won the Top 99 Public Service Innovation award from the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Kementerian PAN RB) Republic of Indonesia.

"It is a continuity to improve the quality of service to the public and develop innovations in handling various social welfare issues," said the Minister of Social Affairs in Jakarta, Friday (7/19/).

The Minister of Social Affairs’ statement responded to the achievements of two Public Service Units in the Ministry who received the Top 99 Public Service Innovation award from the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform. The two Public Service Units, namely the Social Welfare Data and Information Center (Pusdatinkesos) and the Social Rehabilitation for Children Needing Special Protection Center (BRSAMPK) Handayani Jakarta.

"The winners are the Social Welfare Data and Information Center (Pusdatinkesos) services namely the National Integrated Data System Innovation for Poverty Alleviation (SIKS-NG) and BRSAMPK Handayani; Character Education Through Psychosocial Therapy for Children Victims of Radicalism (Smart at Training Children of Cobras)," Secretary General, Hartono Laras said in Jakarta, Friday (7/19).

This prestigious award was received by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Social Affairs representing the Minister of Social Affairs and accompanied by the Director General of Social Rehabilitation, the Director of Social Rehabilitation of Children, and the Head of the Ministry of Social Data and Information Center in Semarang, Central Java, Thursday (18/07/2019).

Appreciation of the Top 99 Public Service Innovations was given to the Ministry of Social Affairs based on Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Decree Number 47 Year 2019 concerning Top 99 Public Service Innovations in 2019. The competition was attended by 331 government agencies with 3,156 innovations. Furthermore, from the Top 99 will be selected again into the Top 45.

Three Times in a Row

The ministry of social affairs won this award three times in a row --from 2017 to 2019. In 2018, two technical service units (UPT) under the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation fall into the "TOP 99 Public Service Innovation 2018" category.

The two technical service units were the Kartini Temanggung Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Intellectual Disabilities (BBRSPDI), and the Alyatama Jambi Child Social Rehabilitation Center (BRSAMPK). The award was given in Surabaya, East Java, September 19, 2018.

Then in 2017, a similar award was given to the Bina Karya Pangudi Luhur Social Welfare Institution, Bekasi, West Java, which developed a service innovation called the Outer Social Welfare Institution of Rehabilitation for Homeless and Beggars in the Community (Risol Gepeng Mas).
