MoSA Aid Brings Joy to a Person with Disability
SAMPANG (18 January 2024) - A person with disabilities, Ilham (19), is overjoyed since he received a lot of assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA). Ilham, a resident of Angsokah Village, Sampang Regency, East Java, lost his right arm and leg in an accident in 2019.
Ilham, who had been depressed following the accident, is now upbeat after getting MoSA aid through the Margo Laras Center in Pati Regency, Central Java. Ilham was devastated since, in addition to losing his right leg and arm, his father had died before him. His mother also fled, and there has been no word until recently.
Ilham then lived with his grandfather and younger brother, who was still in junior high school. To meet his daily needs, Ilham sells crackers for a small profit.
MoSA, through the Margo Laras Center, continues to provide aid and assistance to Ilham until Wednesday (17/1). The assistance provided to Ilham includes social rehabilitation, moral support, and educational opportunities. MoSA also supplied Ilham with ATENSI aid, which included basic food, nutrition, and everyday clothing. MoSA even assisted Ilham in selling credit and electricity tokens to support the family's economy.
Margo Laras Center also provides advocacy assistance to his younger brother, Rizal, who dropped out of school, as well as nutrition, personal hygiene materials, daily clothing, school supplies, payment for educational administration until he graduates from junior high school, and a bicycle for Rizal to ride to school.
"Rizal will continue his education but will have to repeat the grade VII because he has not attended school in almost six months," stated Arief Mulyadi, Principal of SMPN 1 Omben.
MoSA will continue to assist Ilham and his family in Sampang. "Thank you very much, Ministry of Social Affairs, for your assistance to us and our family," Ilham exclaimed, gratefully.
