MoSA Aid Brings Joy to a Person with Disability
JAKARTA (11 January 2024) – The Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) distributed aid in the form of compensation for children and heirs of Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) sufferers. The Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy symbolically handed over the aid to recipients who were present offline and online on Wednesday (10/1).
"Following the President's direction, affected victims receive the best care, while the families of those who died are given empathetic attention," said Muhadjir when giving a statement to the media crew after the aid distribution ceremony at the Kemenko PMK Office in Jakarta, Wednesday (10/1).
MoSA has published a Decree of the Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Number 185/HUK/2023 to provide substantial compensation for AKI sufferers. Heirs of AKI patients who have passed away will receive a compensation of IDR 50,000,000, while those who have recovered or are undergoing medical treatment and rehabilitation will be compensated with IDR 60,000,000. The compensation package includes IDR 50,000,000 for general support and an additional IDR 10,000,000 to cover transportation expenditures associated with medical treatment/rehabilitation.
Initially, based on Ministry of Health data as of 26 September 2023, the AKI sufferers were listed as 326 children, encompassing both treated individuals and those who had unfortunately passed away. However, after meticulous verification and confirmation processes, it was found that two duplicate entries existed, seven cases were disproven as AKI based on hospital records, four patients had untraceable addresses, and one individual declined assistance. Consequently, valid data for 312 individuals were obtained, offering insights into 218 victims who succumbed to the condition and 94 individuals currently in recovery or undergoing outpatient treatment. The total aid distributed as a result of this thorough verification amounted to IDR 16,540,000,000.
Meanwhile, AKI sufferers are spread across 27 provinces with the highest cases being in DKI Jakarta Province.
