MoSA and Commission VIII of the DPR RI Distribute Assistance to South Sumatra Residents
PALEMBANG (18 July 2023) — The Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) and Commission VIII of the DPR RI distributed social assistance during a Recess Working Visit V of 2022 - 2023 in South Sumatra Province.
This time the legislators visited the "Budi Perkasa" Center in Palembang as one of the MoSA’s working units. The visit aims to supervise social development in the South Sumatra Province.
"More specifically, this working visit aims to listen to the aspirations of people. Therefore, we can formulate policies that increase the role of social service centers," said Chairman of Commission VIII DPR RI Tb Ace Hasan Syadzily when opening the activity.
Not only for supervision, Commission VIII DPR RI and MoSA also handed over various social assistance to residents of South Sumatra Province. Among them are the Assistance for Social Rehabilitation (ATENSI) and the Family Hope Program (PKH). Through the Directorate General of Social Protection and Security and the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation, the assistance was disbursed in a total value of IDR 209,926,281,000.
The assistance consisted of Phase II PKH assistance worth IDR 209,180,398,000 given to 281,727 KPM which was distributed through the Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara) and PT Pos. Then, for ATENSI assistance worth IDR 715,883,000 was given to 243 beneficiaries.
ATENSI assistance is a social rehabilitation service based on family, community and residential approaches. It includes support for fulfilling a decent life, social care and/or child care, family support, physical therapy, psychosocial therapy, mental spiritual therapy, vocational training, entrepreneurship coaching, social assistance, and accessibility support.
On the same occasion, MoSA also provided sympathy gifts for the heirs of two fire victims worth a total of IDR 30,000,000. Each heir will receive a sympathy gift of IDR 15,000,000.
The social assistance distribution is a form of MoSA’s responsiveness in handling problems that occur in all regions of Indonesia. This quick response was carried out by MoSA through 4 integrated centers and 27 centers spread across various regions of Indonesia. All of them provided multi-services.
"MoSA through the centers that provide multi-service is at the forefront. It can quickly deal with social problems in the community, such as case response, emergency and disaster response, both in terms of outreach and handling," said Acting Secretary of the Directorate General of Social Protection and Security Mira Riyati Kurniasih accompanied by the Head of "Kartini" integrated center in Temanggung Iyan Kusmadiana and the Head of the "Budi Perkasa" Center in Palembang Wahyu Dewanto.
