MoSA Assists 200 PwDs to Strengthen Their Accessibility and Economy

CILACAP (22 July 2023) - The Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) through the "Satria" Center in Baturraden held activities for the 2023 ATENSI Assistance Distribution for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) in Cilacap Regency, Central Java Province.

The assistance was distributed to two sub-districts, namely Kroya and Cimanggu sub-districts from 20 to 21 July 2023. The distribution of assistance is a synergy between MoSA and the Regional Government of Cilacap Regency. 

According to the Head of the Satria Center in Baturraden, Darmanto, the distribution of this assistance is a realization of the integrated assessment data that has been carried out by the social companion. "The assessment involves local government officials," said Darmanto.

In line with that, the Head of the Cilacap Regency Social Office, Arida Puji Hastuti, said that the assistance was based on the results of the assessment.

"So the assistance is different for each individual. Some ask for bicycles, some need wheelchairs, some need adaptive wheelchairs, some need groceries, and some need kitchen equipment. That was according to the needs of the community when assessed and recorded by the social companion," said Arida.

According to Darmanto, the assistance distributed helped the community to live a decent life such as groceries and additional nutrition cost IDR 1,000,000. So the total assistance for 200 people was IDR 200,000,000.

Other assistance for disabilities was in the form of standard wheelchairs, 2 in 1 wheelchairs, adaptive wheelchairs, 5 in 1 wheelchairs, hearing aids, audio-books, baby strollers, adaptive walking sticks, walkers, crutches, and tripods for 72 people worth IDR 207,587,340. There were also measurements of prostheses which were carried out on 26 June 2023 at Satria Center in Baturraden.

To provide stimulant assistance for empowerment to persons with disabilities, MoSA also provided entrepreneurship assistance to 11 people worth IDR 79,881,000 and also the assistance of a three-wheeled motorbike worth IDR 32,874,500.

"Earlier, a man of Nusa Wungu was given materials formats. There were also goats, chickens, and so on, according to what was requested by ladies and gentlemen in 2022," said Darmanto to the beneficiaries.

One of the beneficiaries, Ponidi, admitted that he was very happy to get a three-wheeled motorbike. "Last night I couldn't sleep since I will get a motorbike according to the news from my social companion," said Ponidi.

Ponidi also said that this three-wheeled motorbike would help his accessibility in buying goods at the market to be resold at his shop.

Also present at the 2023 ATENSI Assistance Distribution for PwD, Head of the "Satria" Center in Baturraden Darmanto, Head of Kroya Sub-district, Budi Narimo, Head of Cimanggu Sub-district, Bambang Tutuko, and Representative from Mr Wastam Member of Commission VIII DPR RI, Wartas.
