SURAKARTA (4 April 2023) -- The 2-year-old girl was still slumped in her mother's lap. However, her smile brightened when the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, appeared and greeted her in the therapy room.

This small girl, Airi Cahya Mekarsari, began oral motor training and speech therapy to improve her receptive language skills. Airi's mother, Dian Aruna Mahesi, said that her child, who had a heart leak, had to undergo a lot of treatment at various health services.

Airi's treatment is complicated by the family's unstable income. As a result, the Minister of Social Affairs is working with kitabisa.com to generate funds to continue Airi's therapy.

At the Prof. Dr Soeharso Integrated Center in Surakarta, the Social Affairs Minister witnessed the handover of aid by kitabisa.com to Airi, a child with a leaky heart from Karanganyar, Central Java.

The assistance was handed over to Airi's parents to cover medical expenses and care needs. It is worth IDR 86,318,072.

"To the good people who have assisted this child (Airi), I would like to express my gratitude. Hopefully, this is not the last because there are still many of our brothers and sisters who need it," said the Minister of Social Affairs to the media crew at the Prof. Dr. Soeharso Integrated Center in Surakarta (3/4).

Previously, the Minister of Social Affairs directed the Antasena Magelang Center to provide treatment for Airi. The center has provided psychological assistance and strengthened motivation for Airi and her family.

Moreover, the center also accompanied Airi during health checks at the hormonal, growth and development section at Dr Moewardi Hospital Solo in July 2022.

The Antasena Magelang Center has also provided ATENSI assistance in the form of nutrition, milk, fruit, additional food, diapers, personal hygiene tools and daily clothing. The center also provides entrepreneurial assistance for Airi's parents in the form of Krombong (mobile sales) of vegetables, kitchen spices and rice.

The Minister highlighted that the Ministry of Social Affairs has funding constraints, particularly in terms of long-term health care assistance. As a result, the Minister is working with kitabisa.com to solicit donations from good people (kitabisa.com donors).

"We are aware that this procedure is expensive. Apart from hospital costs, other operational costs are required which are not small, so I was assisted by kitabisa.com," the Minister continued.

The Minister added that her party also provides medical support services, such as physiotherapy facilities and infrastructure at the Prof. Dr. Soeharso Integrated Center in Surakarta. Any beneficiaries in need can use this facility.

During her visit to Prof. Dr. Soeharso  Integrated Center in Surakarta, the Minister ensured that several rooms for physiotherapy facilities were functioning well.

The Minister also praised the improved and more advanced physiotherapy facilities. "The current situation is better than when I first arrived," the Minister stated.

The Minister emphasized that her party is committed to reaching vulnerable groups who need assistance. These inherent duties and functions also need support from various parties, one of which is kitabisa.com.

Also, present during this visit were Special Advisor to the Minister for Communication and Mass Media Don Rozano, Special Advisor to the Minister for Empowerment and Poverty Reduction Management Doddi Madya Judanto, the Head of the Prof. Dr Soeharso  Integrated Center in Surakarta Rachmat Koesnadi, the Head of the Antasena Magelang Center Agung Suhartoyo and Kitabisa.com Representative Rizal.
