MoSA Continues to Cooperate with KOICA to Strengthen the Capacity of Vulnerable Youth
JAKARTA (1 December 2022) - The Indonesian government through the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) continues to strengthen cooperation with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). The collaboration between the two parties focuses on social rehabilitation support for vulnerable youth in Indonesia.
In line with the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, Sentra Handayani Jakarta is the location for the pilot project of this collaboration. Today (1/12), the Acting Head of the Public Relations Bureau of MoSA, as well as the Head of the "Handayani" Centre in Jakarta, Romal Uli Jaya Sinaga received an audience from KOICA's Senior Program Officer, Kim Hyunyoung and KOICA Project Leader Kim Taejong.
This meeting discussed various matters related to joint efforts to increase social rehabilitation support for vulnerable youth in Indonesia. "Through this collaboration, we will increase the independence of vulnerable youth and provide strengthened facilities and infrastructure," said Romal.
The cooperation was directed at improving social rehabilitation programs, increasing the ability of social workers and building models of social rehabilitation support centers for youth from vulnerable groups.
Romal ensures that he will continue to encourage the continuation of cooperation to provide the best service for beneficiaries, specifically vulnerable youth.
"This is a good opportunity. Our social workers can learn about data management and increase their capacities to provide the ultimate services for beneficiaries," said Romal.
Previously, KOICA had made a financial contribution of US$200,000 for the implementation of an inclusive cooperation program for handling COVID-19 to the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Social Office of DKI Jakarta.
