MoSA Facilitates Identity Card Reprints of Cianjur Earthquake Survivors

CIANJUR (5 December 2022) - The Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) continues to add services to earthquake survivors in the Cianjur Regency, one of which is population administration services held at evacuation posts.

Previously, MoSA had provided emergency tents, public kitchens, lighting, clean water supply, psychosocial support services, emergency schools, creative kitchens, and women’s empowerment in the form of training in cooking food and making earthquake-resistant bricks. Now MoSA is initiating a service for reprinting identity cards that were damaged or even lost due to the earthquake.

In doing so, MoSA cooperates with the Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil) of the Cianjur Regency. In addition to reprinting the identity of the survivors, Disdukcapil also provides notice to heirs services for earthquake victims.

This service has been carried out at the Cariu Mangunkerta Field evacuation post, Cugenang District, Cianjur Regency since Saturday (3/12).

As of 5 December 2022, 286 families reprinted their Family Registers (KK), 478 people reprinted their IDs and 91 people registered new IDs because they did not have IDs yet.

"MoSA and the Disdukcapil of Cianjur Regency ensured that the survivors had family registers and IDs after the earthquake that made their documents damaged or lost. So it's important to reprint the documents. There is also a new ID registration for those who do not have an ID card," said the Head of the Pangudi Luhur Integrated Center I Ketut Supena, the person in charge at the Cariu Field evacuation post.

The Disdukcapil administration service lasts for 4 days from Saturday (03/12) to Tuesday. Ketut said that this service would also be continued in other districts affected by the earthquake.

Lilis Safitri, one of the evacuees who reprinted her ID and Family Register, said that this service was very helpful. The reason was her ID and KK have been buried under the rubble of the building.

"This service is very helpful since ID is important. No need to go to Disdukcapil, which is 1 hour away. So it is very useful that there’s kind of this service at evacuation sites," said Lilis at the evacuation site.

According to Ketut, MoSA wants to provide services, especially basic needs. "We'll make sure they get their basic right, which is to have a resident identity," said Ketut.
