MoSA Gives Condolances Gifts of Rp. 15 Million to the Heirs of the Tragedy of Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang

MALANG CITY (October 3rd, 2022) - Government pays attention to the victims of the Kanjuruhan Stadium tragedy in Malang Regency which occurred on Saturday (1/10). President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, represented by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK), Muhadjir Effendy, and accompanied by Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini visited the families of victims in several sub-districts in Malang City and Regency.

Muhadjir Effendy said that this is a form of concern and empathy from the government for the disaster experienced by the victim's family.

"Personally, I share my deepest condolences. Hopefully, all of you are given patience and sincerity," he said in Lowokwaru District, Malang City.

The tragedy happened at the Kanjuruhan Stadium on Saturday (1/10), said Social Minister Risma, was one of the social disasters. "This includes social disasters, there are also conflicts in several places that we handled," said Social Minister Risma to the media crew at the Lowokwaru District Office, Malang City.

Social Minister Risma provided condolances gifts to 125 heirs recorded by the Ministry of Social Affairs as of Monday (3/10) in Malang City and Regency who experienced the social disaster. This data continues to grow according to developments in the field.

Each heir received Rp. 15 million/victim and food packages.

"If there are two victims in one family, we give two. If there are three, we give three, that’s a standard. We give this and basic necessities," said the former Surabaya Mayor.

Besides giving condolances gifts in form of money for the heirs, Ministry of Social Affairs has also assisted the evacuation process for the victims at the stadium on Saturday (1/10), through Pioneers of Piece (Pelopor Perdamaian) and Disaster Voluntary Worker (Tagana), followed by data collection on the heirs of the deceased.

Until today (3/10), the Ministry of Social Affairs, through Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of Ministry of Social Affairs provides Psychosocial Support Services (LDP) for the families of the victims who passed away. In addition, support for the families of the victims of minor and serious injuries, both in the hospital and in the funeral home, was also provided.

The Ministry of Social Affairs, through PKH Companion, also lists some heirs who have components of pregnant women, early childhood, school children, the elderly and with persons with disabilities to be included in the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) as a database for social assistance recipients.

"But, there are special conditions, for example if the father passed away, then the child is still in school, we handle it specifically. Earlier, there are some still in the last semester in college, we handled it specifically," said Social Minister Risma.

On that occasion, present on the event were Deputy Chairperson of the MPR RI Ahmad Basara, Mayor of Malang Sutiaji, Deputy Regent of Malang Regency Didik Gatot Subroto, Chairman of the Malang Regency DPRD, Darmadi and East Java Provincial DPRD Tri Untari, Head of "Kartini" Integrated Center in Temanggung Rachmat Koesnadi and Head of "Pangudi Luhur" Integrated Center in Bekasi I Ketut Supena.

For information, this compensation was given to the heirs of the victims of the Kanjuruhan Stadium Tragedy, Malang Regency during the League I match between Arema FC and Persebaya on October 1, 2022.
