ACEH BESAR (24 June 2022) - Disaster Preparedness Village (KSB) is a foundation for community-based disaster management. As the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, has always said on various occasions, this is a form of social investment.

"It is hoped that the community will be able to handle disasters quickly and independently through KSB. So the wider impact can be prevented and reduced, especially for the people of the Lembah Seulawah," said Acting Head Director of Social Protection for Natural Disasters Victims (PSKBA) Iyan Kusmadiana at the closing of the inauguration of the KSB Lembah Seulawah at SMK PP Saree Field.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) also provided assistance in the amount of IDR 138,118,950 which was used to strengthen the social granary of KSB Lembah Seulawah.

"This assistance was provided by MoSA for the KSB social granary. So, when a disaster or emergency occurs, ladies and gentlemen can take advantage of the logistics in the KSB Lembah Seulawah, without having to wait for help from the center to arrive," said Iyan.

"This is our effort in accelerating disaster management as one of the keys to reducing the disaster's impact," he continued.

Meanwhile, Aceh Besar Regent Mawardi Ali was also present at the occasion to appreciate and support the establishment of the KSB Lembah Seulawah.

"So, the KSB establishment by MoSA is the right step for the Aceh Besar Government in disaster management, considering that Aceh Besar is one of the areas prone to disasters," he said.

Mawardi hopes that the KSB volunteers who have been confirmed can provide knowledge to other communities and can become a model for other sub-districts within the Aceh Besar Regency.

"This must be followed by every sub-district in the Aceh Besar Regency, even without financial assistance from the government. Because this program is community-based, to us, from us," he said.

Also present on the occasion were elements of the regional leadership coordination forum (Forkopimda) of Aceh Besar, the Head of the Aceh Social Office, Heads of Regional Organization in the Aceh Besar Regency, the sub-district head and elements of the District Leadership Meeting (Muspika) of Lembah Seulawah District, and the Social Pillars.
