MoSA Invites Well-known Entrepreneurs to Give Entrepreneurship Training for the People of East Nusa Tenggara

KUPANG (17 June 2023) - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini brought in well-known entrepreneurs to provide entrepreneurship training to the people of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The involvement of the private sector is a commitment of the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) to provide the best quality training for beneficiaries.


"I realized that there are many youths in NTT (who haven't got a job). So that's where the idea (of training) came from," she said on Saturday (17/6).


The Minister of Social Affairs said that by chance she received offers from her colleagues to work together in providing training to the people of NTT. To increase the number of types of training, the Minister also contacted other partners to participate.


"Then I got an offer from Dailybox. I also contacted Mitra Pinasthika Mustika (MPM) of Honda and Sampoerna Entrepreneurship Training Center (SETC) to help us deal with the people of NTT. Thank God, it turned out to Dailybox also has a program named Dailybox Campus. Finally, we agreed to start the training today," she said.


The training was also held as part of the Indonesian Economic Heroes (PENA) roadshow and was held at the Kupang Efata Center, Jalan Timor Raya KM 36, Naibonat, East Kupang District, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. As many as 500 participants attended offline at the event. There were also participants connected online from all over Indonesia.


Participants who attended the training were the Beneficiary Families of the Family Hope Program (PKH) in Kupang City and Kupang Regency (both those who already run a business and did not), residential beneficiaries of Kupang Efata Centera, vocational students in Kupang City, and other beneficiaries from Kupang City and Kupang Regency. Apart from that, there were also participants from Timor Tengah Utara Regency, Belu Regency (KPM PENA Berdikari) and Biak Numfor Regency in Papua.


PENA is a program that encourages PKH beneficiaries to be economically independent so that they no longer need social assistance and graduate from PKH. PENA gives capital assistance to the beneficiaries. As many as 2,707 beneficiaries so far have successfully graduated.


"Many PENA beneficiaries have asked for graduation, including 42 beneficiaries from NTT. This means they can be (independent)," she said.


The training will be held for two days from 17 until 18 June 2023. There were various training sessions attended by hundreds of participants. Workshops 25 participants, sewing for beginners 25 participants, advanced sewing 25 participants, screen printing 25 participants, cultivation and processing of moringa 25-75 participants, grocery store business 50-100 participants, and catering 200 participants.


Meanwhile, the partners involved included Mitra Pinasthika Mustika (MPM) who provided workshop training, the Dailybox for catering, SETC (Sampoerna Entrepreneurship Training Center) for grocery stores and SRC (Sampoerna Retail Community).
